RIPSTAR® PRIMER
Two-component, 100% solid, epoxy resin-based primer

Product Overview
Ripstar Primer is a two-component epoxy resin-based primer is a type of primer
that consists of two separate components, usually a resin (Part A) and a hardener (Part
B). When these two components are mixed together, they undergo a chemical reaction,
resulting in a cross-linked and durable coating. This type of primer is commonly used
for various applications, including on porous mineral substrates.

Storage & Shelf Life

The product should be stored tight
covered at temperatures between
5°C to 35°C. Shelf life is 12 months
when stored as above
Application Methodology

1. Surface Preperation
The primary purpose is to remove laitance (a weak
and powdery layer on the surface of fresh concrete)
and surface contamination from the concrete
surface.
The concrete surface should be dry at the time of
shot blasting or abrasive blasting application.
Moisture can affect the effectiveness of the
process. Shot blasting / Abrasive blasting

If there are any cracks, holes, or damaged areas on

the surface, they should be repaired using an
appropriate repair mortar.
"RIPSTAR® 122" as a suitable product for treating
such surface defects. This appears to be a reference
to a specific repair product or method.

The concrete surface must be thoroughly cured,

which means it should be given sufficient time to
reach its full strength and hardness.
The surface should be free of any oils, curing
compounds, or mold release agents. These
substances can interfere with the bonding of
coatings or repair materials.
Cleaned Substrate

2. Mixing Components
Ensure that the mixing container and all tools are
clean and free from any contaminants or residues.
Wear appropriate protective gear, including gloves,
safety goggles, and a mask.

Pour the Ripstar primer base into the clean mixing

container. Add the correct amount of Ripstar Pouring base and hardener in bucket
primer hardener according to the mixing ratio i.e.
2:1.

Use a clean stir stick or low speed electric stirrer to

thoroughly mix the base and hardener together.
Mix in a slow, controlled manner to avoid
introducing air bubbles into the mixture.
There should be no streaks or uneven patches in
the mixture. mixing thoroughly with stirrer
Application Methodology

3. Application Process

Wear the necessary protective gear to ensure your safety during the application.

Worksite must be thoroughly ventilated.

Do not apply Ripstar Primer if ambient temperature is less than 5°C.

Pour the mixed Ripstar Primer onto floor for easy access during application.

Use a brush or roller, start by cutting in the edges of the area to be primed.

Apply a thin coat of Ripstar Primer along the edges.

Ripstar Primer must be allowed to cure until tack-free (overnight curing is common
practice) before applying subsequent coatings or finishes.

Avoid foot traffic or any stress on the primed surface during the drying period.

Safety Wear Pour Mixed Primer on floor

Apply using a roller brush Leave overnight for curing
