Abstract
This study explores the intersection of costume design, fashion, and film production among
Multimedia University students in Kenya. Through a case study approach, the research
investigates how fashion influences the film industry and shapes students’ understanding of film
aesthetics and production processes. Drawing on theoretical frameworks from costume design
and film studies literature, the study examines the perspectives of students enrolled in
multimedia and fashion-related programs. Findings reveal the significant role of costume design
in enhancing the visual storytelling of films and the importance of integrating fashion education
into film production curricula. The study contributes to the existing literature by shedding light
on the dynamic relationship between fashion and film, with implications for both academic and
practical aspects of costume design education and the film industry at large.
