The graph below shows different sources of air pollutants in

the UK from 1990 to 2005. Summarise the information by

selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.
The line graph illustrates the four sources of air pollutants in
the UK between 1990 and 2005.

After analyzing, it can be seen clearly that the air pollutants

sourced by industries were remained almost steady
throughout the period. The amount of air pollutants produced
by households was almost identical from 1990 to 1993
however it declined to almost 1 million tonnes in 1996 then,
there was a growth of 0.2 million tonnes in 1999 although it
continuously decreased to nearly 0.1 million tonnes in the end
of the period.

Further, the line chart collates that the total air pollutant’s
amount declined sharply between 1990 and 1999 although a
negligible difference was seen in the amount of total air
pollutants from 1999 to 2002 then it reached around 3 million
tonnes in 2005. The air pollutants sourced by transport was
about 5.5 and 5 million tonnes in 1990 and 1993 respectively
however it declined to nearly 3 million tonnes in 1996 and
steadily decreased to 2 million tonnes in the end of the period.

Overall, it is striking that the air pollutants sourced by

household, industry and other air pollutants showed a
downward trend whilst the amount of air pollutants produced
by industries remained steady over the period.
