When trying to conceptualize yin and yang areas of the body, the most
1 helpful image is that of a person with their hands to their sides, thumbs out-
ward. By picturing the body in this stance, it is possible to quickly ascertain
l the relative yin or yang nature ofa given channel or area on the body' Ifthe
person were to face away from the sun, areas suffused with sunlight would

Taking the yang levels first, the steam radiating off the top has the out-
wardly-moving nature that characterizes td.i ydng. The ability of the bamboo frd

The warm, transforming steam and the dumplings themselves within the ffir
