MONTHLY ASSESSMENT - I (Observation, Empathy and Define Phase)
(DATE: 09/11/2022)
1. Why has the team taken above mentioned domain? (Please specify reason)
(Note: For more content or information, one may attach additional pages to this
card.)
The team chose IoT-based agriculture because it offers the following benefits:
2. How frequently have student/team gone for observation on field, mention with date,
place, time etc.? Which are the key observations that they have noticed?
During the field visit, we observed that the farmers has facing problem like,
Inefficient resource management
Lack of real-time monitoring
Inaccurate decision making
Labor-intensive processes
Environmental impact
Market demand and traceability
Climate change adaptation
Overall, IoT-based agriculture improves resource utilization, enables real-time
monitoring and data-driven decision making, reduces labor requirements, promotes
sustainability, ensures traceability, and helps adapt to climate change.
2
We have done several interviews and interacted with many people that work in this particular
domain. We interviewed people like farmers, civilians, professionals, etc.
B. Who are the user and various stakeholders on domain? Describe their persona
(Name, age, occupation/education, roles, and responsibility etc.)
The stakeholders of this project Farmers, Agricultural Researchers,Agricultural
Consultants,Agricultural Service Providers,Government and Agricultural Organizations
Agribusinesses and Supply Chain Stakeholders.
C. List out the questions asked by the team during observation and interviewing
phase.
Some of the questions asked by our team were:
i. “What are the main challenges you face in old farming techniques?”
3
4. What is something special/random/unusual (i.e., activity, environment, interaction,
object, or user) team have observed at the domain? Please elaborate the conditions
with photographs if available.
- During our observation, we visited a farmers and village then they are not educated
and deprived from modern technology of farming and agriculure
5. Enlist any five major problems observed by your team in the respective domain.
Mention any one for which you have empathize user the most and which might
become your problem statement. Give reasons for selection of this particular
problem/issue based on empathy
o Labor-intensive processes
o Environmental impact
6. Define your “PROBLEM DEFINITION” for the project as per below format.
Which might be refined till end of Ideation phase if you wish.

MONTHLY ASSESSMENT – II (Ideation and Product Development Phase)
(DATE: 12/12/2022)
1. Explain briefly Ideation thought process and efforts of your team to reach ideas for
listed problems.
Identifying agricultural challenges.
Brainstorming and generating ideas.
Prioritizing and selecting the most promising ideas.
Developing concrete concepts.
Validating and refining concepts through prototyping and feedback.
Integrating IoT technologies into the solutions.
Implementing and testing the solutions.
Deploying and evaluating the solutions in real-world agricultural settings.
2. Enlist any five effective ideas to address the probable listed problems with reason.
o Smart Irrigation System
o Crop Health Monitoring
o Livestock Monitoring and Management
o Automated Greenhouse Climate Control
o Supply Chain Traceability
3. Explain the most effective possible solution proposed for the problem.
The most effective proposed solution for the problem in IoT-based agriculture is the
development of a Smart Farming Platform. This platform integrates IoT technologies, data
analytics, and automation to optimize resource management, detect crop diseases, monitor
livestock, and support data-driven decision making. By collecting real-time data from
various sources and providing actionable insights, the platform enables precise irrigation,
early intervention against diseases and pests, and efficient farming operations.

MONTHLY ASSESSMENT -III (Detail Design, Prototype and Test phase)
(This assessment shall be done by another guide of department or
interdepartmentally along with guide) (DATE: 02/01/2023)
1. Which theoretical subjects/concepts are involved with your project? How useful
are they to your project?
9
4. What are the materials, technology, things have utilized to make the prototype/model?
- IoT Sensors (e.g., moisture sensors, temperature sensors)
- Actuators
- Microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi)
- Communication Protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRaWAN)
- Cloud Computing and Data Analytics
- Software Development (e.g., Python, C++, Java)
5. How many Iterations have you done to reach final solution? Explain
modification/revise parameters/characteristics for each iteration.
We have done several iterations throughout the prototype making phase to reach the
final stage. We have encountered and solved many problems as they have come in our
path to reach the final prototype model.
6. What is the scope of the project? How are you planning to implement it in the future?
The scope of IoT-based agriculture is expansive, aiming to revolutionize farming practices
through the integration of IoT technologies. This includes optimizing resource
management, improving crop health, enhancing livestock monitoring, and streamlining
agricultural operations. The future implementation of IoT-based agriculture involves the
development of advanced sensor technologies, improved connectivity infrastructure, and
sophisticated data analytics and machine learning algorithms. The scope also extends to
integrating emerging technologies such as drones, robotics, and blockchain for enhanced
efficiency and traceability throughout the agricultural supply chain. Furthermore, there is a
focus on scaling up the implementation globally, addressing affordability and accessibility
challenges, and fostering collaborations among technology providers, agricultural experts,
government agencies, and farmers. These efforts will drive innovation and bring sustainable
and efficient farming practices to fruition in the future.
