1. Can you describe about yourself? Tell me about yourself?

Good afternoon, my name is Yu Yu and I am [21] years old and originally from Myanmar. I have over 2 years of
experience working as a Hotel Waitress in Myanmar. I decided to come to Dubai to seek new experiences and
knowledge that will help me improve my life and career. I am a dedicated and hardworking person in F&B, and
I believe that my skills and experience make me a suitable candidate for this position.

2. Where are you staying now? / What is your visa status?

I am currently staying Duai/ Sharga, UAE with 2 months visit visa

3. How long have you been here in UAE?


I have been here in UAE about 2 weeks ago and I was visiting around the famous places of Dubai and studying
the culture.
4. Do you have any friend or family’s members in UAE?

Yes sir, I have some friends who are working in here but no family members.
5. Where did you work before? Can you tell me about your previous jobs experiences? Do you have any
work experience before? Can you describe your previous experience as a waiter?

I have worked at Royal Ruby Hotel's Restaurant for the past two years, where I took orders, served food and
drinks, and ensured customer satisfaction. Before that, I worked at Lotte Hotel as a waiter for a year, doing
similar tasks. These jobs helped me develop strong customer service skills and work efficiently. I am thankful
for these experiences, which have prepared me to be here in the UAE today.

6. How long have you worked there?

I worked at Sedona Hotel2 years (from Feb 2022 to Jan 2023)

7. What is the star rating of your previous hotel?

Yes sir, It a 4 stars hotel with 120 rooms.


8. How many rooms/restaurant/bar/coffee shop/ in there/in your previous hotel?

Yes sir, there are 120 rooms , 2 restaurant, 1 bar, 1 coffee shop and 1 spa in my previous hotel.

9. What are the rooms categories of your previous hotel or hotel name?

Yes sir, there are Standard rooms, deluxe rooms, suites, and executive rooms were available.

10. Total how many team’s member in your outlet/ F&B Department?

In our outlet, the F&B department consists of 12 team members. This includes 1 manager, 1 supervisor, and 10
other staff members who work as waitstaff, bartenders.
11. What is your duties and responsibilities in your previous job?

In my previous job as a waiter, I was responsible for greeting customers and showing them to their tables,
taking accurate food and drink orders, and serving the meals and beverages to guests. I ensured that
customers had everything they needed and were satisfied with their dining experience. Additionally, I
cleared tables and maintained a clean dining area, handled payments, and collaborated with kitchen staff
to ensure orders were correct. I also assisted with opening and closing duties, such as setting up tables
and restocking supplies. Throughout my work, I focused on providing friendly and efficient service to all
guests.

12. What do you know about our hotel? What do you know about our restaurant?

I know that your hotel is known for its excellent customer service and beautiful facilities. Guests enjoy
the fine dining, spa, and comfortable rooms. I've read many positive reviews about the friendly staff and
clean, elegant environment. I'm excited about the chance to work here and be part of such a great team.
13. Is there any friends who working in our hotel?

Yes, I have a friend who works here. They told me it's a great place to work, and I'm excited to join.

No, I don't have any friends working here, but I heard good things about the hotel and the staff. I'm excited t

14. What do you have to do as a waiter/waitress on a daily basis?

Yes sir, I start by setting up the dining area, arranging tables, and making sure everything is clean and ready.
When guests arrive, I greet them, take their orders, and serve their food and drinks. I check on them regularly
to ensure they're happy and refill their drinks as needed. Between serving, I restock supplies and clean up. At
the end of my shift, I tidy up and prepare for the next day. My focus is always on providing great service and
keeping the dining area welcoming.
15.How do you handle multitasking during busy shifts?

I make a list of what needs to be done first. I stay organized and focus on one thing at a time. I also
talk with my team to make sure we're working together. Staying calm helps me handle many tasks at
once.

16.Why do you want to work here?

I want to work in your hotel because I want to use the skills and knowledge I gained from my
previous job experiences. I also want to learn more about food and beverages and grow in my
career.

17.How do you stay organized during a busy shift?

I stay organized during a busy shift by prioritizing tasks, ensuring customer satisfaction, and following a set
process for taking and delivering orders. I communicate clearly with the kitchen staff and coworkers, keep my
work area clean, and plan ahead for busy times to serve customers quickly.
18. What experience do you have with handling cash and processing payments?

In my previous job as a waiter, I handled cash and processed payments regularly. I made sure to get the
order quantities and charges right, so there were no mistakes with the amount collected from customers. I
understand how important it is to handle cash carefully and accurately.

19.Have you ever worked with a point-of-sale (POS) system? If so, which one?

Yes, I have experience working with various types of POS systems, including Micros. I have used different
software with different user interfaces and have found it easy to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.

I haven't worked with a POS system yet, but I am a quick learner and very comfortable with technology. I am
confident that I can quickly learn to use any POS system with proper training.
20. Do you have any formal training or certifications in food service or hospitality?

Yes, I received training from G&A Hospitality Training Center, where I completed a course in Food and
Beverage (F&B). Additionally, I continuously update my knowledge by researching and studying
modern technology through YouTube and related websites.

21.Why should we hire you for the waitress position?


You should hire me because I love serving people. I have a service mindset, and I
enjoy making customers happy and satisfied. When I see customers happy, it
makes me happy too. If you hire me, you will have a waitress who loves to give
great service.
22. What is your strength and weakness?

My strength is I am very friendly and always make customers feel welcome. I


work quickly and can handle busy times without getting stressed.

My weakness is Sometimes, I focus too much on making everything perfect, which


can slow me down a little. I'm working on finding a good balance.

23. Can you share any achievements or successes from your previous hotel?

Yes sir, In my previous job, I helped improve customer satisfaction scores by


consistently providing friendly and efficient service.

I trained several new staff members who quickly became valuable team members,
thanks to the effective training program I developed.
24. How do you handle wit very difficult customers?
When dealing with difficult customers, I listen carefully to understand their
concerns. I show empathy, apologize if needed, and try to resolve the issue
immediately. If I can't solve it, I’ll report it to the captain or supervisor. My goal is
to ensure guests are satisfied and avoid any negative reviews.
25. Why do you want to be a waitress? What interests you about the waiter position?
I want to be a waitress because I love making people happy. Seeing my
customers satisfied with my service is very motivating for me. It brings me
joy, and that's why I want to work as a waiter.

26. How do you ensure that you are giving the best dinning experience to the customers?
I ensure the best dining experience by following the service procedures and
putting my heart into serving customers.
27. Can you provide examples of your customer service skills and how they would benefit our guests?

I once helped decorate a table for a guest celebrating a special occasion. They were really happy, and it
made their visit special. I think small things like this make a big difference for guests and make their
experience better.
28. What is your expected salary ?

I trust that your organization has a fair salary range for staff members. I would be

29. How many hours can you work per day?


I can typically work up to 10 hours per day, and on busy days, I can work up to 12 hours. My
availability depends on how busy our operations are. I'm flexible with my schedule.

30. Can you work on your off day or PH days and If someone is absent?

I'm flexible and willing to help maintain smooth operations, even on my days off
or public holidays. If someone is absent, I can step in and assist.
31. How many types of cheese do you know?

I know different types of cheese like cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan. There
are also soft, semi-soft, hard, and blue cheese varieties.

32. How many types of wine do you know?

I am familiar with various types of wine, including white wine, red wine, sparkling wine, rosé
wine, fortified wine, and dessert wine or sweet wine.

33. How many types spirit do you know?

I am familiar with six types of spirits: whisky, rum, gin, vodka, brandy, and tequila.

34. How many types of whisky do you know?

I know five types of whisky: Scotch, Irish, bourbon, Japanese whisky, and Canadian
35.How do you take customer reservation?

When taking a guest's reservation as a waitress, I start by asking for the date and time
they want. Then I ask how many people will be coming and note down their name. I also
ask for their phone number or email and if they have any special requests. After that, I
repeat everything back to them to confirm. It’s important to make sure all the details are
right. Finally, I thank them and let them know their reservation is confirmed

36.What types of foods/cuisine did you serve in your previous job?

In my previous job, I served a variety of cuisines, including Italian, American, and


Mediterranean dishes. The menu included pasta, burgers, steaks, salads, and seafood. I
am comfortable with a diverse range of foods and enjoy learning about new cuisines.
37. How do you maintain your personal hygiene (clothing, name badge, hair, nails, jewelry, makeup,
odor) during work hours?

During work hours, I make sure to keep my personal hygiene in check. I wear clean clothes and my name
badge. I keep my hair neat, my nails trimmed and clean, and I wear minimal jewelry. I also use light
makeup and avoid strong odors by using deodorant and not wearing strong perfumes. This helps me look
professional and clean.

38.How do you ensure customer satisfaction during their dining experience?

To ensure customer satisfaction during their dining experience, I greet customers warmly and seat them promptly. I
listen carefully to their orders and can suggest dishes if needed. I make sure to serve food and drinks quickly and
accurately. Throughout their meal, I check in regularly to see if they need anything and resolve any issues
immediately. Finally, I thank them for dining with us and encourage them to return, making sure they leave with a
positive impression.

our service.

40. What would you do if a customer had a complaint about their meal?

meal, I would listen to them carefully and apologize for the issue. I would offer to fix the
problem by replacing the meal or finding another solution to make them happy. If
needed, I would involve my supervisor to ensure the customer is satisfied.

I handle conflicts with coworkers by staying calm and talking to them politely. I listen to their side and try
to find a solution that works for both of us. If we can't solve it, I ask a manager for help.

42.What would you do if you noticed a mistake in an order?

If I noticed a mistake in an order, I would apologize to the customer, fix the mistake quickly, and make
sure they get the right order as soon as possible.

43.How do you familiarize yourself with the menu and specials?

I learn the menu and specials by studying them carefully, asking questions if I don’t understand
something, and trying the dishes when possible. I also pay attention to any updates or changes.
44. Can you describe how you would suggest menu items to customers?

I suggest menu items by asking customers what they like and then recommending dishes I think they will
enjoy. I also tell them about popular items and any specials we have.

I am motivated to perform well in my job because I enjoy making customers happy and I take pride in my
work. Seeing satisfied customers and getting positive feedback makes me feel good and encourages me
to do my best.

I stay calm and focused. I prioritize tasks, communicate clearly with my team, and make sure to attend to customers'
needs quickly. This helps me manage stress and keep things running smoothly.
