Distance is how far one thing is from another thing. It is also a measure of the space between two things. It can be
measured along any path
Speed tells us how fast something or someone is travelling. You can find the average speed of an object
if you know the distance travelled and the time it took
For Example
A person crosses a 600 m long street in 5 minutes. What is his speed in km per hour?

Speed = 5 x 60
m/sec.
= 2 m/sec.

= 2 x 5 km/hr
= 7.2 km/hr.
An aeroplane covers a certain distance at a speed of 240 kmph in 5 hours. To cover the same distance in 1 hours, At
what speed it must travel?
