INTRODUCTION
The Licensure Examination for Teachers is the most crucial aspect that a pre-
service teacher anticipate themselves for. This examination will be a pivotal
milestone that will set them in a huge advantage as they trudge through their
professional journey. Administered by the Professional Regulation Commission, this
rigorous examination is done to ensure that only those aspiring educators who
possess the required skills, adequate knowledge, and ethical standards shall be
given the privilege to take part in the teaching profession. The significance of the
Licensure Examination for Teachers couldn’t be more emphasized because truly, it
upholds the quality of education by certifying only the most dedicated, competent,
and passionate future educators, those who have set their minds in contributing
positively to the profession.
In this narrative report, we highlight the multifaceted importance of LET and
the crucial process of preparing for it effectively. Through the first-hand experiences
and advice from our top-notchers, we get a glimpse of how their preparation journey
went like and the significant habits, practices, and techniques they explored to not
just own the license but to also top the exam itself. These speakers, who are in
continuous pursuit of educational and professional excellence brought with them not
just practical tips but also words of encouragement that aims to boost the confidence
of the pre-service teachers in acing the upcoming Licensure Examination.

NARRATIVE REPORT
The program started with preliminaries through audio visual presentation of a
prayer and singing of the national anthem as well the CSU Hymn. The seminar
officially commenced through the welcome message from our very own pre-service
teacher, an intern from Obrero Central Elementary School Ms. Josie Flor Cavite.
Excitement flooded through the entire venue as she welcomes everyone present on
the said event. With the welcome message making everyone feel giddy, came the
statement of purpose from another pre-service teacher who finished his internship at
Butuan Central Elementary School, Mr. Jerdan Paul I. Betco. He stated that this
seminar holds much importance and relevance for us as we are to embark on this
journey sooner or later. Much has been said and at this point, we had Ms. Rowena
A. Pitogo, a pre-service teacher who finished her internship at Ampayon Central
Elementary School. She did the privilege of introducing the speakers for this
seminar. Describing the speakers as inspirational, was truly a spot on thing to say.
“Shoot for the moon”.
Starting off the seminar was our first speaker, Miss. Roxanne Joyce Salinas
who ranked 10th in the 2023 March 2023 Licensure Examination for Teachers. She
took the challenge of sharing significant points on the topic “Journey Towards
Becoming an LPT”. She shared seven steps in topping the licensure exam which
wasn’t just helpful but also inspiring to hear. First was “Begin with an End in Mind”
telling us that discipline and setting your goals straight and clear is a must in the
entire process. The second was to “Plan Strategically” this means that every
decision you make in the process of preparing for the exam should be planned and
this involves how you spend your time and what resources to invest in. Along with
this is her advice to organize the subjects you wish to study one by one and one
important thing is to invest in a review center. Third is “Know Yourself” which
emphasizes your personal preference in learning. Fourth is “Manage Your Time”
which tells us to utilize the time we have and make use of it wisely. Fifth was to
“Never be afraid to walk alone” she said that part of the entire process is losing track
of your usual enjoyment and hangouts with peers, with this, we should never be
afraid to face the journey in a different path than that of others. Sixth is to “Manage
Your Stress” she didn’t forget to remind us that the pressure will be there, the stress
will demand to be felt and the negative thoughts might strike, during these
challenging times, it is important to find different ways of managing this stress and
not lose focus on the true goal. Last but definitely not the least was her advice to
“Surrender Everything to the Lord”. Truly when everything already feels so heavy,
there is only God you can run to.
Around 9:50 am, the interns from Butuan Central Elementary School
performed an intermission number where they showed off their dancing skills. Their
performance also served a quick break before the second speaker starts his speech.
On 10 am, the second speaker officially started his speech on “Test-Taking
Techniques” during LET. Mr. Abzonie B. Reño, MSC had his speech on three parts.
The first part was Selected Topics for General-Education Mathematics in which he
shared his expertise on various mathematical formula and techniques on identifying
different kinds of mathematical questions and mathematical solutions fit for that
question. Various Mathematics General Education topics like Business Math,

Algebra, Geometry, Probability, and Measurement were tackled on this first part.
Next he talked about various Test-Taking Strategies, here he emphasized that there
may be different techniques needed before, during, and after taking the test. This
part also includes effective ways of maximizing time, sticking with your preferred
learning style, rewarding yourself and so much more. The last part of his speech was
Strategies for Test-Taking Anxiety where he gave much importance to the feeling of
anxiety that we may feel during the examination. He emphasized the importance of
staying focused and relaxing as much as we can during the exam. He also advised
not to do unnecessary comparison of answers after we’ve taken the exam. It is also
important to stay positive and believe in yourself at all times. And that your faith in
God and in yourself will carry you through the whole process and will bring you to
victory.
