Veterinary Fees - you will pay the first £50 of veterinary treatment for each unrelated illness or injury.
Complementary Treatment - you will pay the first £50 of complementary treatment for each unrelated illness or injury.
Your Covered for Life® policy provides an amount of money in each policy year for you to claim for all illnesses and injuries. When your policy
renews, this will be replenished and you will again have the full amount for the next policy year to claim for all illnesses and injuries. As the
amount you can claim is replenished at each renewal, you will pay an excess for each illness and injury in each policy year. This means
that if Sissy's treatment dates span two or more policy years you will pay the excess(es) in each policy year for each illness/injury.

Conditions in the section called ‘Who needs to carry out Veterinary ! The excesses you pay when you claim and how these can
Fees and Complementary Treatment?’. change:
• Some sections of your policy have an excess and these are
explained in the ‘Your Excesses’ section of your Certificates
of Insurance.
• We can change the excesses you pay at the renewal of your
policy. Typically a 20% excess is introduced at the renewal
following your pets 7th birthday but this can change and you
will be notified a least a year in advance of any percentage
excess being added to your policy.
! How your premium can change – your pets age, increasing
veterinary costs and advancements in veterinary medicine can all
affect the premium you pay. These mean your premium will
increase over the lifetime of your policy. However, Petplan will not
increase your premium as a direct result of any claim you make.
! Hydrotherapy – we will pay for 10 sessions of hydrotherapy for
each separate illness or injury. Once this session limit has been
reached, all cover for hydrotherapy for that illness/injury ends and
the policy will never cover any further sessions. This is regardless
of whether the hydrotherapy for that illness/injury takes place in the
same, or future policy years.
! The cost of food – we will only cover the cost of feeding your pet
if he/she needs liquid food while hospitalised at a veterinary
practice. You can find out how much we will then pay and for how
long in the Terms and Conditions . We will not cover the cost of
any other food and this is regardless of whether the food was
prescribed by a vet.
ü Your cover is in force when your pet is in the UK only.
This part explains what we believe are the most significant policyholder obligations. There are also other obligations and you need to read the Terms
and Conditions to understand these.
• Sending us your claim – you must send us your Veterinary Fees and Complementary Treatment claims no later than one year after your pet
received treatment. Any claims we get after this time will not be covered by the policy. If treatment is ongoing you must make sure that claims are
sent to us at least once every 12 months.
• Keeping your policy running – you have a Covered for Life policy but to benefit from ongoing cover you must keep paying your premiums and
every 12 months you need to renew your insurance policy with us (without any break).
• Dental treatment – we will cover the treatment of a dental injury or illness providing:
- Your pet had a dental examination by a vet in the 12 months before the first signs of the injury or illness were seen, and
- Any treatment recommended as a result of the last dental examination was carried out within 3 months of the examination taking place.
• Keeping us informed of certain information – throughout your policy you need to tell us about certain information. The things you need to tell us
about are detailed in your Certificates of Insurance and it’s important you check any new documents we send to understand the information we
need. If you do not provide us with the full and accurate information it can result in a claim not being paid or affect the cover we provide.
You can pay annually or monthly. The details of how you have chosen to pay are shown on your Certificates of Insurance.
Your cover starts on 28 December 2020 and the last day of cover is 27 December 2021. Every 12 months you need to renew this insurance contract to
continue with your cover. If you pay your premium by Direct Debit instalment, when your policy is due for renewal we will renew it for you automatically.
If you do not want to renew your policy you need to let us know before your renewal date. If you pay by any other means, you need to contact us to
confirm you want to renew your policy and to pay your premium.
You can cancel your policy at any time by writing to us at info@petplan.co.uk or Petplan Customer Centre, Great West House (GW2), Great West Road,
