INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR ENGINEERS

INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL STUDENTS:
1. Duration of ISE3701 is 48 hours.
2. The test (ISE3701) will open on 8th of April 2024 and will close on 10 April 2024. This will
give you time to deal with unforeseen circumstances of load shedding and Covid-19 as
required.
3. You are allowed consult any books, training videos, lecture notes as well as Internet
resources during the test but copy and paste is not allowed.
4. You are not allowed request a third party (i.e. another human, for direct help with a test)
YOUR SCRIPT MUST BE SAVED WITH STUDENT NO, SUBJECT CODE AND
UPLOADED ON ASSESSMENT 6 PLATFORM. EXAMPLE 72111985QAS401I
• Honesty Declaration must be completed
• The module is IRIS invigilated
Additional student instructions
1. Students must upload their answer scripts in a single PDF file (answer scripts must not be
password protected or uploaded as “read only” files)
2. NO emailed scripts will be accepted.
3. Students are advised to preview submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and that the
correct answer script file has been uploaded.
4. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts should their initial submission be
unsatisfactory.
5. Incorrect file format and uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
6. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms
(including the invigilator cellphone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be granted
for resubmission.
7. Mark awarded for incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity for
resubmission will be granted.
8. Mark awarded for illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final mark. No
opportunity for resubmission will be granted.
9. Submissions will only be accepted from registered student accounts.
10. Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be subjected to disciplinary
processes.
11. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. UNISA has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms of
academic dishonesty.
12. Students are provided one hour to submit their answer scripts after the official examination
time. Submissions made after the official examination time will be rejected.

messages exchange along with the objects. Study the diagram below and answer

Planned value (PV) is simply R55 300. To calculate the planned value (PV) we need
to multiply the earned value (EV) by the percentage of the project that is complete of
85%. If the actual cost (AC) is R76 920, how would you determine the following?
a) The earned value (EV) (3)
b) The cost variance of that month. (3)
c) Cost performance index (3)
d) Discuss the outcome of your calculated cost performance index to give us what
