Statement of Purpose

Seeing companies like Apple, SpaceX, and Microsoft reach the highest levels of success and
dominate the international market inspired me to gain profound knowledge in the fields of
technology and business. As the world revolves around technology-related businesses, engaging in
these fields and building a career out of them will help me keep up with the world. This is what
motivated me to pursue my undergraduate program in business and technology.

During my HSC in 2022, I came to understand that I enjoy studying subjects like Finance and
Management. I had to study other subjects as well, but I did not find them as interesting as these
two. However, with Information Communication and Technology added to my regular curriculum, I
discovered my new passion, which is coding. Although my curriculum introduced me to only the
basics of HTML and the C language, I found myself deeply involved in it. My new discovery played a
vital role in strengthening my decision to pursue higher education in Business and IT.

Throughout my HSC, I achieved considerable success in my academic path, and obtaining a

scholarship was one of them. I was also an active member and part of the executive committee of
the English club. I participated in debate workshops, and the most notable thing I did during my
college years was to be a member of the college student council. I was also one of the four leaders
of our class’s sports team. I contributed to charities and engaged in other volunteer work as well.

I involved myself in extracurricular activities too. I have been learning to sing for the past twelve
years and acquired a strong hold on Rabindrasangeet. I love to read books and once took part in a
book reading competition, achieving a special mention award for that. I also led a team for a science
fair, and my team stood 3rd in that. In addition to my extracurricular achievements, I stood in 3rd
position in a photography competition.

When thinking about the future, I see myself as someone who has accomplished her dreams of
being a part of big companies like Meta and Google. This is what motivated me to pursue my higher
studies abroad, especially in the USA. I have been researching which country to choose for my
undergraduate program for so long and concluded that the USA will be the best fit for me. Studying
there can expose me to a diverse range of perspectives and experiences, and most importantly, I will
face challenges that will help me achieve personal growth. Also, the USA has a strong reputation for
producing highly skilled professionals in the fields of business and IT. I come from a developing
country, and here we do not have such advanced facilities in the technology sector. This is why I
think that studying in the USA will help me achieve my ultimate goals in life.

As I have a passion for Business and IT, I researched courses related to this field and found the best
fit for me: a B.S. in Computer Science (Cybersecurity). Although I had many other options, I chose
cybersecurity because it offers job flexibility and highly transferable skills that will allow me to apply
to any industry sector. Also, by choosing it, I will be a part of an exciting and challenging journey, as
cybersecurity plays an essential role in ensuring online safety, as well as the safety of the essential
systems that support our daily lives.
After finalizing my subject, I immediately started looking for universities and found that Kean
University in New Jersey could provide me with all the opportunities I need to pursue my career in
cybersecurity. So, I intend to pursue my bachelor's degree at Kean University.

I fully acknowledge the challenges, dedication, and perseverance a bachelor's degree calls for, but I
believe that I have built myself in a way where I will be fully motivated to complete my bachelor's
degree while contributing to the research at Kean University.
