ABOUT US
Prakarsa Jaringan Cerdas Indonesia (Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative) established in 2015, is a legal
entities that received the principal license of association from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights
Decree on July 6th, 2015. Smart Grid is an electricity network that uses digital and other advanced
technologies to monitor and manage the transport of electricity from all generation sources to meet
the varying electricity demands of end-users. Smart Grid infrastructure possessed a great deal of
dependency towards national electricity grid in which PT PLN (Persero) is the majority owner and the
responsible party of such facilities as a solution of achieving better utility service from PLN or
Government. Initiated by concerns from numerous parties towards the development of Smart Grid
technology in developed country and neighboring countries, Indonesians intellectuals from various
well known University along with utility practitioners establish an organization named “Prakarsa
Jaringan Cerdas Indonesia” or Indonesia Smart Grid Initiative with the main objective to prepare
technology institution, regulation, education and entrepreneurial as well as forming systematic road
map for Smart Grid implementation as a solution towards Smart Indonesia.

BACKGROUND OF
PJCI’S INNOVATOR ON ENERGY (PIE) 2024

This competition has been launched for the second Batch to broaden
and enhance public understanding of clean and renewable energy
across all generations, with a particular focus on young people. This
initiative, known as the PIE program, aims to foster innovative thinking
and active participation in the renewable energy and smart
technology sectors.

The program operates under the supervision and guidance of the PJCI
organization, ensuring that participants receive the necessary support
to develop their ideas. PIE serves as both an innovation incubator and a
platform for young individuals to contribute positively to the
renewable energy landscape. By engaging young minds, the
competition seeks to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and a
proactive attitude towards the advancement of new and renewable
energy technologies in Indonesia.

Through this initiative, PJCI hopes to inspire a new generation of

thinkers and innovators who will drive the development and adoption
of clean energy solutions, ultimately contributing to the sustainable
development goals of the nation.
