Here I have compiled a small amount of Dua’s (prayers) and other forms of Dhikr that are useful, InshaAllah
when studying, and for strengthening memory, InshaAllah.

Please read on to see the various Dua.

Leave any Dua’s you know in the comment section too please.

Also, please make Dua for me and my family. May Allah swt bless you all.

Remember, after hardships ALWAYS COME EASE whether, it be here, straight away or even in the here-
after. But that ease after the hardship is for sure.

Also another way which we need to endure some ‘difficulties’ are by EXAMS!

Intention of Imam al Haddad

I’ve been taught this as the intention of Imam al Haddad, peace be upon him and his family. Imam
al-Haddâd encouraged his students to read the following intention before studying:

Al-hamdu llilahi rabb il ‘âlamîn wa salallahu ‘ala saydinâ Muhamamdin wa ‘alâ âlihi wa sahbihi wa
sallam. Nawaytu al-ta’alluma wa talîma wat tadhakkara wa-tadhkîr wa na’fa’ wal ‘intifâ’ wal-ifâdah
wa’l istifâdah wal-hath ‘ala_tamassuki bi kitâbillahi wa sunnati rusûlihi wa du’â il al-hudâ wa
dalâlata ‘alal khayri wabtighâha waj hillâhi wa mardâtihi wa qurbihi wa thawâbihi subhânahu wa
ta’âla.

All praise is to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And salutations and greetings upon Muhammad and upon
his family and companions. I intend to study and teach, take and give a reminder, take and give
benefit, take and give advantage, to encourage the holding fast to the book of Allah and the way of
His messenger, and calling to guidance and directing towards good, hoping for the countenance of
Allah and His pleasure, proximity and reward, transcendent is He.

Dua for Strengthening Memory

Glorified are You. We do not know except what you have taught us. Surely you are all-knowing,
all-wise. My Lord, expand for me my Bosom and ease for me my task
and remove the knot from my tongue (speech) so that they may understand my speech. My Lord

 increase me in knowledge.
O Allah, fill my heart with light and increase the strength of my hearing, my sight and my memory.

Durood:

Read any Durood Shareef.

There are many benefits of Durood upon the last Prophet sallahu alaihiwasalam, Subhannalah

Increasing Knowledge

Rabbi Zidni ‘Ilma

(My Lord! Increase me in knowledge)

I think most of you probably know that dua already, but in case you don’t, then RabiZidni’Ilma is one of the
main duas everybody seems to read before studying.

Dua of Prophet Yunus A.S.

I was looking for duas for exams,studying etc. and then came across this one that I’ve heard loads, it is a very
powerful and amazing dua!
So, you all know the story of Prophet Yunus A.S. right? You know about the whole him being on the boat
and they had to chuck a man off board (it’s in the bible too I think) and he was picked and when he was
thrown overboard, the fish(whale maybe) ate him- he was in the belly of the fish,but still alive Alhamdulillah,
and during that time, this is the dua he recited!!

 So imagine, a dua that a Prophet recited..whilst in the belly of a fish! It’s a very strong dua.
Here it is:

Dua of Prophet Yunus alaihi salaam

‫ﯾن‬
َ‫ِﻣ‬‫ِﻟ‬‫َن ﱠ‬
‫اﻟظﺎ‬ ُ‫ﱢﻧﻲُﻛ‬
‫ﻧتِﻣ‬ َ‫َﻧ‬
‫كإ‬
ِ ‫ْﺣﺎ‬
َ ََ
‫ﻧتُﺳﺑ‬ ‫ﱠﻻ أ‬ َ
‫َﮫ إ‬
ِ ‫ِﻟ‬
‫لا إ‬

Sa’d ibn Waqas reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, “The supplication made by the
Companion of the Fish (Prophet Yunus) in the belly of the fish was, ‘La ilaha illa anta, subhanaka, inni
kuntu minadhalimin (there is no god but You, You are far exalted and above all weaknesses, and I was
indeed the wrongdoer)’.

If any Muslim supplicates in these words, his supplication will be accepted.”

In another report we read, “I know words that will cause Allah to remove one’s distress. These are the words
(of supplication) of my brother Yunus, peace be upon him,”

***Please note, these Dua’s can be said at any time, for Allah s.w.t. always hears the call of the
believer-I’m just saying that for those studying the exams may wish to make the duas inshallah in
case they didn’t know them before. So inshallah we can read them all the time -but now’s a good
time too!

I don’t have time to reply to everyone, but would just like to say, thank you for all the
comments, I am glad that the message of Islam has reached out to so many people, Subhanallah,
and that so many of you are reading these Duas.

I hope you all do well i your exams InshaAllah!!

I have made dua for ALL OF YOU, whether you just came to this blog, or commented, but most
importantly to those who read these Duas regularly. InshaAllah, may Allah swt grant you all
success, in this life and the next, and save you from the hell-fire and grant you paradise. Ameen.

Keep reading these Duas’. They are very strong, Alhamdulillah. Have faith in Allah. Don’t give
up. InshaAllah I hope we all keep learning, increasing our knowledge, and acting upon it.

And for those looking for more things to read, Surah Fatihah and Ayatul-Kursi are very
beneficial and we should try to read them daily InshaAllah. Also, small things such as Durood,
and the kalimahs. Re-iterate your Shahadah.

Say, in your heart and on your tongue, ‘La illaha illalahu Muhammadur-rasullallah’, and know
that whatever happens in this life, the exams, the trials and tribulations, the most important
thing is that we have our Deen.
