GENERAL GUIDELINES
On Registration, Attendance and Mechanics
The rules and regulations stipulated herein apply to all the contests and event
components of AIT’s SPORTSFEST 2024 except for some provisions that are applicable only
to the specific events and contests in this series. A separate detailed mechanics is also
provided along with this general set of guidelines.

We strongly encourage all faculty advisers and students to carefully read to fully
understand the provisions stipulated herein and in the other sections. It is also advised that
the same rules be discussed thoroughly to the participating SHS to make all expectations
clear.

1. All performers/participants/representatives must be bona fide students of Asian


Institute of Technology – Digos, Inc. and must be eligible as per specific competition
requirements.
2. All competitions are open for Grade 11 students. Please check the specific contest
mechanics along with this document.
3. The decision of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.

ATTENDANCE
1. ATTENDANCE is required for all GRADE 11 students.
2. Attendance forms are provided by the SSLG officers.
3. There will be DAY ONE (1) morning and afternoon attendance as well as the second
day.
4. Even if a student did not participate in any events, he/she must have his/her
attendance.
5. Fines will be imposed on those students who have incomplete attendance.

AIT’s SPORTSFEST SCORING RUBRICS


1. Participants of each event component will get corresponding scores which will be
totaled with the scores from other events to determine the final strand standing. The
final standing will determine the Over-all Champion, First Runner Up up to Fourth
Runner Up respectively.
2. The table below shows the corresponding scores that can be earned by every finalist
of each event:

SPORTSMANSHIP, PROPER CONDUCT


AND ETIQUETTE
1. The true spirit of sportsmanship is greatly encouraged among the competing teams.

2. ALL representatives and students are expected to behave in a respectful and ethical
manner, and observe online etiquette, and any omission may result in the disqualification of
a team or ejection of an offender.

3. Use real and complete names in Pre-Registration. Code names, pseudonyms, alias, and
the like are strongly discouraged.

4. Sharing any obscene, defamatory, derogatory images, words, noises, and the like will
be dealt accordingly.

MECHANICS AND CRITERIA FOR EACH

CHEER DANCE COMPETITION

Mechanics/Guidelines
 The competition is voluntary in nature.
 Each member must be a bona fide student of Asian Institute of Technology – Digos,
Inc.
 Appropriate attire must be worn by all members. Removing pieces of clothing during
the performance is permitted provided it is not offensive or out of character.
 The duration of the dance should be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 7
minutes only including the entrance and exit.
 No age limit, must be all students per section must participate.
 Avoid dangerous lifting and stunts that may cause accidents.
 Top 3 winners will be chosen.
 The decision of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.

VOLLEYBALL (MIX)

MECHANICS FOR SINGLE ELIMINATION

Single elimination is a common format for volleyball tournaments and refers to a


competition structure in which a team is eliminated from the tournament after losing
a single game. Here are the mechanics for a single elimination volleyball tournament:

1. Registration and Team Formation:


 Students form teams or are assigned to teams within their section.
Teams register for the tournament, providing player information
and team names.

2. Bracket Creation:

 The tournament organizers create a bracket that outlines the


matchups for each round of the tournament. The bracket can be
created manually or using tournament management software.

3. Game Rules:

 Games are played following standard volleyball rules, such as sets,


timeouts, and violations. It's essential to ensure that players and
referees are familiar with the rules.

4. Referees and Officials:

 Appoint referees and scorekeepers to officiate the games. These


individuals should be knowledgeable about volleyball rules and fair
play.

5. Security and Safety:

 Ensure the safety and security of the participants and spectators.


Have a medical team on standby in case of injuries, and establish
security measures to handle any potential issues.

6. Elimination Rounds:

 Teams face off in the bracket, with winners advancing to the next
round and losers being eliminated from the tournament. The
number of rounds depends on the size of the bracket.

7. Foul and Violation Enforcement:


 Explain how fouls, violations, unsportsmanlike foul and technical
fouls are called and enforced, including the consequences of
accumulated fouls.
8. Player Conduct:
 Emphasize good sportsmanship and appropriate player conduct.
Define penalties for unsportsmanlike behavior, such as technical
fouls or ejections.
9. Forfeits:
 Outline the conditions under which a team may forfeit a game, as
well as the consequences for forfeiting. Teams who failed to report
after three calls are automatically counted as defeat.
10. Spectator Conduct:
 Promote respectful behavior among spectators, and identify
consequences for unruly or disruptive behavior.
11. Code of Conduct:
 Enforce a code of conduct for all participants, including players,
coaches, referees, and spectators, to maintain a positive and
respectful atmosphere.

MECHANICS & GUIDELINES
I. Participation and Qualifications

 Participants must be a bonafide student of Asian Institute of Technology –


Digos, Inc.
 Players must be listed on the official list to participate in the game.
 Each unit must present six (6) players. It consist of four (3) boys and four (3)
girls.
 Each player, will only have one category as listed on the official list. There will
be no substitution if the player on the list is not available.

 Swapping categories of the players is strictly prohibited.


 There will be two categories for boys and girls; Single , and Doubles.

II. Requirements

 Players need to secure their own rackets.


 Wearing proper attire is required for each player as well as proper footwear.
 Accessories that may cause accident during the game is not advisable.
 Misconduct inside the court in prohibited.
 Respect to the authority is necessary. Any players mocking the officials will be
given penalty and worst, will be kick out of the game.

III. Rules

• A match consists of the best of three games of 21 points.


• The player/pair winning a rally adds a point to its score.
• At 20-all, the player/pair that first gains a 2-point lead wins that game.
• At 29-all, the side scoring the 30th point wins that game
 The player/pair winning a game serves first in the next game.
• At the start of the rally, the server and receiver stand diagonally opposite
service courts.
• A legal serve must be hit diagonally over the net and across the court.
• A badminton serve must be hit underarm and below the server’s waist height
with the racquet shaft pointing downwards, the shuttlecock is not allowed to
bounce. After a point is won, the players will move to the opposite serving
stations for the next point.
• The rules do not allow second serves.
• During a point a player can return the shuttlecock from inside and outside of
the court.
• A player is not able to touch the net with any part of their body or racket.
• A player must not deliberately distract their opponent.
• A player is not able to hit the shuttlecock twice.
• A ‘let’ may be called by the referee if an unforeseen or accidental issue arises.

IV. Disqualifications

• Players that did not appear on time will be automatically disqualified.


• If the player is under the influence of alcohol and any illegal drugs, he is not
eligible to play.
• Players who are not available on their scheduled time will be disqualified.

Guidelines
1. Registration:
 Each member must be a bona fide student of Asian Institute of Technology – Digos,
Inc.
2. Venue:
 the tournament will be conducted at AIT school.
 Upon arrival, locate and settle into your assigned playing area.
3. Rules Overview:
 Acquaint yourself with fundamental chess regulations.
 Adhere to principles of fair play and ethical conduct.
4. Schedule:
 Punctuality is imperative; arrive promptly as per the tournament schedule.
 Maintain strict adherence to the outlined timeline for each phase of the competition.
5. Equipment Check:
 Prior to commencement, meticulously inspect chess boards and pieces to ensure
their integrity.
6. Sportsmanship:
 Display sportsmanship by observing the customary handshake ritual before and after
each match.
 Uphold the spirit of fair play and treat opponents with respect.
8. Enjoyment:

 Foster an atmosphere of enjoyment and intellectual engagement throughout the


tournament.
 Demonstrate camaraderie and support for fellow participants.
9. Organizers' Instructions:
 Adhere diligently to instructions provided by tournament organizers.
 Cooperative conduct ensures the seamless execution of the event.
10. Questions:
 In the event of uncertainty or ambiguity, participants are encouraged to seek
clarification from designated authorities.
11. Fair Play:
 Maintain the highest standards of fair play and ethical conduct.
Integrity in gameplay is of paramount importance.

12. Three (3) winners will be chosen.

ML TOURNAMENT
( MAY 09, 2024 @ SAN JOSE GYM)

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE:
 Tournament is open to all-male, or all-female, or mixed teams
 Qualifying Stage is Elimination system, winning teams will advance to the semi-finals.
 There will be a draw lots system, whose team will get the ‘BYE’ ticket will advance to
final round and the remaining teams will have a match to advance in championships
round the lose team will be automatically announced as 3 rd placer.
 Best of three games
 Finals will be Best-of-3 games.
 STRITCLY NO TRASHTALKS. Players/teams who will be uttering profanity words will
be automatically ban from the tournament.

PLAYER REQUIREMENTS:
 A player can only join one team.
 Players must be available during tournament dates.
 Players must be aged 15 and above.
 Players must be currently enrolled in Asian Institute of Technology Digos INC.
 Must have STABLE DATA CONNECTIONS/ you can provide or bring your own pocket
WIFI.
SCHEDULES / TIMING OF MATCHES:
 The tournament is an Online Tournament.

 Players will be advised of schedule and timing of matches thru their registered email
address.
 Only Tournament Director can alter schedule and timing of matches.

GENERAL CONDUCT:
 Players are expected to conduct themselves and compete with the spirit of
sportsmanship, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor in activities involving
other participants and public in general.
 The organizer has the right to apply penalties, disqualify and dismiss any registered
player from the tournament, at their discretion, at any stage of the tournament.
 Cheating doesn’t need to be successful to qualify as a violation. Conspiring to cheat
is already a violation and will lead to an automatic disqualification for all conspirators.
 Examples of cheating includes, but are not limited to:
 Ghosting
 Account Sharing
 Piloting

Over – all Guidelines:

1. The candidates must be a bona fide student of Asian Institute of Technology –


Digos, Inc.
2. Each section must only have one male and one female representative for the
pageant.
3. The pageant will be conducted at San Jose Gym at exactly 1 pm.
4. Every candidate must have an entry for every portion. The contest contains
seven (5) portions and these are the following:
a. Casual Attire (this includes the Introduction of Candidates)
b. School Uniform
c. Talent
d. Sports Attire

5. Please be guided with the proper dress/costume, no vulgar and immodest
dress/costume allowed.
6. Points breakdown for minor awards will be as follows:

Casual Attire

 Candidates must wear the WHITE T-shirt, any color denim pants.
 Points breakdown for the Best in Casual Attire are as follows:
o Attention to Detail (30%)
- Attire must be complete and follow the prescribed
attire.
- Evaluate the visual appeal
o Presentation (50%)
- Evaluate how well the attire fits each candidate
and how it is presented on stage.
- Consider how confidently the candidate carries
themselves.
o Physical appearance (20%)
- Consider the candidate's neatness, posture, body
language, and overall poise.

Wearing of Uniform
1.The following are the guidelines for the “Uniform ”
 Candidates must wear the complete prescribed school uniform of Asian
Institute of technology.
 Points breakdown for the Best in Uniform are as follows:
o Attention to Detail (40%)
- School uniform must be complete and follow the prescribed
uniform.
o Presentation (30%)
- Evaluate how well the uniform fits each candidate and how it
is presented on stage.
- Consider how confidently the candidate carries themselves.
o Physical appearance (20%)
- Consider the candidate 's neatness, posture, body language,
and overall poise.
o Overall Impression (10%)
- Consider the overall impact and lasting impression the
performance leaves on the judges and audience.

Talent Showcase
1. The following are the guidelines for the “Best in Talent”
 Candidates perform their talent live on stage by pair.
 Performances can include but are not limited to singing, dancing, acting,
instrumental performances, magic, and other unique talents.

 Using props and other appropriate materials are allowed to showcase your
talents. However, using glass and other elements that can cause harm to
others is strongly prohibited.
 Points breakdown for the Talent are as follows:
o Skill level (20%)
- Assess the technical proficiency and skill level
demonstrated in the performance.
o Originality (30%)
- Evaluate the uniqueness and creativity of the talent
presented.
o Stage Presence (20%)
- Consider the candidate's ability to command the stage and
captivate the audience.
o Creativity and Innovation (20%)
- Evaluate the use of creative elements and any innovative
aspects of the performance.
- Evaluate how well the candidate uses the stage and any props
or set pieces.
o Overall Impression (10%)
- Consider the overall impact and lasting impression the
performance leaves on the judges and audience.

Sports Attire
1. The following are the guidelines for “Sports Attire”
 Candidates will showcase their sports attire on stage.
 Points breakdown for the Best in Uniform are as follows:
o Uniqueness (30%)
- Evaluate how unique the chosen sport is.
o Presentation (40%)
- Assess how confidently the candidate presents their sports
attire on stage.
- Evaluate how well the sports attire fits the candidate and
provides comfort for sports activities
o Physical appearance (20%)
- Consider the candidate's neatness, posture, body language,
and overall poise.
o Overall Impression (10%)
- Consider the overall impact and lasting impression the
performance leaves on the judges and audience.

Mr. & Ms. Eloquent (Q&A)


1. The following are the guidelines for “Mr. & Ms. Eloquent”
 The Candidate will pick a question and read it silently.
 The emcee will read the question again so that the judges and audience will
hear it.
 The candidate will be given two (2) minutes to think and construct his/her
answer.
 Points breakdown for the Mr. & Ms. Eloquent are as follows:
o Articulation (30%)
- Evaluate the candidate's ability to articulate thoughts clearly and
coherently.

o Vocabulary and Language Use (20%)


- Assess the richness of vocabulary and effective use of
language.
o Confidence (10%)
- Evaluate how confidently the candidate speaks and carries
themselves.
o Content Relevance (40%)
- Assess the relevance and substance of the candidate's speech
and responses.
7. Points from minor awards will be equated to the following points breakdown for major
awards.
a. Casual Attire ----------------------------- 10%

c. Uniform ------------------------------ 10%
d. Sports Attire ------------------------------ 25%
e. Question and Answer ----------------------------- 40 %

8. The decision of the board of judges is final.


9. Other provisions including policies on Raising Clarifications and Objections on the mechanics,
or the conduct of the contests; and other relevant policies are stated in the General
Guidelines and other Information in a separate document. All students and advisers are
required to read to fully understand the mechanics of AIT’s SPORTSFEST 2024 events.
