READ CAREFULLY: You are required to submit financial certification indicating you have
documented support for the estimate of annual expenses. Costs of higher education increase each year.
Please review the Estimated Expenses for a Single International Student.
PART A: Source(s) of Funds: Complete all that apply. Enter amount of assured support for the first year
in U.S. Dollars, and provide official financial documents/letters. Such documents MUST be within (6) six
months from the date of issuance to the date when we create your I-20. The name on the statement must
the name of sponsor or student. These funds are expected to be available for each year of study in the U.S.
by the student and/or sponsor.
Statements accepted:
Certificates of Deposit, Fixed Deposit, Time Deposit & Term Deposit
Checking & Savings Accounts; Scholarship Award Letters & Education Loan;
Provident Funds (exact amount available for withdrawal must be clearly stated in the
letter/statement)
Bonds (maturity date must be clearly stated and must be before the semester start date)
Statements not accepted:
Business Accounts & Chartered Account,
Retirement & Mortgage Accounts,
Insurance Policies, Solvency Certificates & Stock Market Funds
PART C: Dependent (student’s spouse and/or child/children) Information only if you plan to bring
them at the same time with you to the U.S.
$5,000 USD financial certification is required for the first dependent, and $3,000 USD for each dependent
thereafter. Please provide the following information for each dependent along with a clear copy of passport
ID page.

Remember: You must complete all application procedures, provide banks statements or scholarship
award letters to document the amount listed, and be accepted by WVSU before the I-20 Form will be
issued to you.
All application materials, including financial supporting documents become the property of
WVSU and will not be returned.
