TASK 1: COMPREHENSION PASSAGE (Assertion and Reasoning Based)


Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow.

Deep in the heart of the Enchanted Forest, there existed a mysterious cave known as the Cave of
Whispers. Legends spoke of the cave as a place where dreams and fears intertwined, where one could
confront their innermost desires and anxieties. Many adventurers sought the cave, but few returned with
tales to tell.
One brave explorer named Alex dared to enter the Cave of Whispers. Inside, whispers echoed through
the dark chambers, whispering secrets of the past and visions of the future. Alex's heart raced as the cave
revealed truths that tested courage and resolve.
There are two statements given below, which are marked as Assertion (A) and Reason (R).
Mark your answers as per the options given below.

TASK 2 : ART INTEGRATED PROJECT - Craft your Quack-tastic puppets. (Based on the poem ‘The
Duck’ by Harindranath Chattopadhyay)

2.Materials Gathering:
Take a sock to serve as the base for their duck puppet.
Gather art supplies such as paper, markers, googly eyes, feathers, yarn, and glue for decorating the
puppets.
3. Design Planning:
Re-read the excerpt from the poem and identify specific details about the appearance of the neighbour’s
duck described in the text.
Sketch a design for your duck puppet, incorporating the colours and features mentioned in the poem,
such as spotless white feathers, a dark and bluish-black bill, and yellow feet.
4. Puppet Assembly:
Begin the process of assembling your duck puppets.
Sock puppets: Decorate the sock with fabric markers or glued-on fabric pieces to create the duck's body.
Facial features and feet can be added using colourful paper.
5. Narrative Integration: Decorating according to the poem:
As you decorate your puppets, refer to the poem to ensure they reflect the characteristics of the
neighbours’s duck.
(Feathers or cotton balls for the spotless white feathers, dark-coloured paper for the bill, and yellow yarn
or felt for the feet.)
6. Finishing Touches:
Once the basic features are in place, add details to enhance your duck puppets, such as drawing on
patterns or textures, adding accessories like bows or hats, or incorporating glitter for a touch of sparkle.
