I am writing to express my sincere interest in applying to the Computer Science BSc program at
Eötvös Loránd University. My name is Emre Sandıkçı, and I am a student at Marmara University
in Econometrics. I am enthusiastic about pursuing further education in Computer Science at your
esteemed university.
My passion for mathematics has been evident since my early school years, and it became the
field in which I excelled the most during my high school years and university entrance exams.
Courses such as Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 were particularly enjoyable for me. This strong
foundation in mathematics led me to choose the Economics Department at Marmara University.
During my university years, I continued to deepen my understanding of mathematics and sought
further learning opportunities.
While working in the finance department, I gained valuable practical experience, and my interest
in econometrics began to grow. However, my desire to delve deeper into econometrics and
acquire new skills in computer science led me to consider transferring to ELTE. Making an
undergraduate transfer from the Economics to Econometrics Department, I expanded my
knowledge in econometrics and developed a keen interest in data science and artificial
intelligence.
Completing my final year in the econometrics department, I am now eager to explore and further
develop my skills in computer sciences. I am particularly drawn to the outstanding achievements
of ELTE in this field and believe that the university will provide the ideal environment for my
continued academic and professional growth.
Having previously experienced an Erasmus exchange at Budapest University of Technology and
Economics, I am familiar with Hungary's culture and language. My proficiency in English and
ability to collaborate effectively with international students strengthen my belief that ELTE's
international atmosphere will offer an ideal setting for my development.
The modern infrastructure, well-equipped computer laboratories, and collaborative projects
offered by ELTE's Computer Science program make it an excellent learning environment.
Moreover, the university's emphasis on research opportunities and participation in international
projects is particularly appealing to me.
By joining ELTE, I aim to enhance my knowledge, collaborate with international peers, and
engage in meaningful projects. I am excited about the prospect of developing my social skills,
interacting with students from diverse backgrounds, and working together towards shared goals.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I have a passion for basketball and camping. Having played on
the basketball team for four years in high school, I developed teamwork skills and a competitive
spirit. These qualities, along with my strong inclination for collaborative work, make me an
excellent fit for the dynamic environment at ELTE.
