The Students' Association of CMC
Vellore launched Cognitio in 2013 as an
initiative to provide a research symposium
platform par excellence undergraduate
medical students and, thereby, promote
research aptitude among medical
students in our country
Over the years, we have collaborated with British Medical Journal and
Welcome Trust Research Laboratory. Distinguished keynote and guest
speakers from all over the world have shared their experiences in the
field of medical research and bioethics
COGNITIO has witnessed a progressive increase in participation from
medical students from colleges across the nation. We, the students of
CMC Vellore, believe that medical research has a vital significance in
developing standards of healthcare in India. Thus, promoting research
at an early stage of medical education would play a key role this
process. We would like extend our invitation to the faculty and
students of your college to come and be a part of Cognitio 2024.
 ABOUT

COGNITIO
Cognitio 2024 will have keynote speech, oral and poster
presentations, clinical case presentations and workshops.
Basic registration for the conference includes participation as
a delegate and an extensive research methodology workshop a
inclusive of lunch both the days - Dine and interact with
faculties and students from all over the country .

Accommodation is available on request!

Students can submit the abstracts by a paying a fee of Rs.250
for:
(a) Oral and Poster Presentation
(b)Clinical Cases
A panel of judges will evaluate the entries for oral, poster and clinical
presentations. The panel will select the following :
1.Oral presentation- 15 presentations
2.Poster presentation-20 presentations
3.Clinical Case -15(Medical specialities), 15(Surgical Specialities)
Selected students should register themselves as delegates to be able to
present on the day of conference
The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine whether a submitted
abstract is accepted as an oraI or a poster presentation and their decision is
final. The presentation may scheduled for display on any day during the
conference.

Candidates are invited showcase their original research as oral presentations.
Eligibility for participation: MBBS students to CRRIs (Interns).
Candidates are required to submit their abstracts as pdf through the respective
google forms by July 24th 11:59 PM .
Candidates have to pay Rs.250 for abstract submission.
Abstracts submitted without the abstract registration fee will be disqualified from
screening.
The basic registration is not required for submitting the abstract. However, if - your
abstract gets selected to presented in COGNITIO 2024, basic registration should
be done.
Following screening, selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentation at
COGNITIO 2024.
Results will be out by July 28th 2024 .The oral presentations
should be a PowerPoint presentation, which should be sent to
the Incharges before Aug 4th 4:00 PM.
- On the day of the event, candidates are requested to come early
-and check their PPTs on the assigned laptop.
- Personal laptops or other digital devices (e.g. Tablets, iPads) are
not permitted for presentation.
The total duration is 10 minutes, 8 minutes for presentation and
2 minutes for discussion .
Candidates will be evaluated by faculties and the discussion
session will include questions from the judges and audience.

 PRESENTATION

Candidates are invited to present their

 Poster
PRESENTATION
Following screening, selected abstracts will be invited for poster presentation at
COGNITIO 2024. Results will be out by July 28th 4:00 PM.
The posters should be printed by the participant (Im X Im size).
We will provide suitable push pins for fixing your poster. - The participants are
requested to be present in the poster presentation hall with their posters pinned at
their allotted slot no, 30 mins before the start of the event. -
Candidates will be evaluated by faculties and the discussion session will include
questions from the judges and audience.
- All posters must be taken back by the presenters at the end of the conference.
Please do not remove your poster before the event ends.

 - Medical students from all over the country are invited to put their history
taking and examination skills to the test.
- Eligibility for participation : MBBS students or CRRIs (Interns)
- Only solo presentations are welcomed. The cases should have been worked up
by the student presenting the case.
-Candidates are required to submit their abstracts as pdf through the respective
google forms by July 24th 11:59 PM.
- Cases from Medical and surgical specialities are
welcomed.
- Candidates have to pay Rs.250 for abstract submission. Abstracts submitted
without this registration will be disqualified from screening.
- The basic registration is not required for submitting the abstract. However, if
your abstract gets selected to be presented in COGNITIO 2024, basic registration
should be done.
- Abstracts should comprise history, relevant clinical examination, investigations,
provisional & differential diagnoses, management, and learning points.
- All the abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of judges and top 10 abstracts will
be selected for oral presentation in COGNITIO 2024. Results will be announced
by July 28th 4:00 PM.
- The oral presentations should be a PowerPoint presentation of maximum 20
slides, which should be sent before hand to the incharges.
- On the day of the event, candidates are requested to come early and check
their PPTs on the assigned laptop
