I take this opportunity to give a brief idea about the services that our
{consultancy} provides to the Researchers, Trainers, Clinical practitioners and other
professionals in Sports Sciences, Therapeutic Rehabilitation, Biomedical, Physiotherapy,
Fitness, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Yoga, so on and so forth.

In recent years, Technology has advanced at a very fast rate and choosing the
right products require interdisciplinary knowledge of Technology (both Hardware and
Software), knowledge of the concerned Domains. Besides, every user has different needs
and that calls for lots of customization and/or Integration of disparate components to
make them work together. Training of concerned personnel is also an important task.

For example, a Rehabilitation expert may be satisfied with a 3D motion capture

session in a Laboratory environment but to capture the fast paced movements of an
athlete to understand the Biomechanics involved, entails an outdoor movement capture.
Available technologies for 3D Motion capture are Optical-Passive Marker, Optical-Active
Marker, Optical Video Camera, Electromagnetic-AC, Electromagnetic-DC, Inertial and
combination of these. Optical-Passive Marker System can be used in controlled
environment of a Lab but not outdoor. Optical Video-Camera can be used outdoors but
single camera is only capable of 2D Motion capture and that forecloses the option of
knowing the 6 Degrees of Freedom (Position as well as rotation) motion data, a very
important Motion Parameter, for calculating the Torques acting on the joints. 3 D motion
Capture is possible with Optical Video-Camera systems using synchronized multiple
cameras. But that needs a cumbersome calibration, setup and operation related to manual
tracking. Besides, resolution is limited and cost effectiveness is challenged. Contrast
Markers can be used for automatic Tracking in Optical Video-Camera but that again
limits the range, resolution and requires controlled lighting conditions and that rules-out
Outdoor application. Electromagnetic trackers are mostly wired although directly provide
6DOF data. Active marker Systems can be used outdoors but require body suit and
encumbrances like battery assemblies, LED marker controllers etc. to be borne by the
subject. And above all is the total cost, both capital expenditure as well as operations.

It can become quite complicated, just as in the example above and one could end
up having a system that is useless, outdated or outright expensive to acquire as well as
maintain.
