Dear party guest, it's great that you're coming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of
Koneenrakennuskilta!
This email contains important information about the event, as well as payment instructions.
Even though there's a lot of info, please read the message carefully!

Payment instructions can be found in the beginning of the email, they are made according to
the information provided in the registration form. If you're paying for multiple tickets, for
example, your plus ones ticket, please make each person's payment with their own bank
transfer. This significantly facilitates our accounting.

The anniversary celebration will be held on March 16, 2024, starting at 5:00 PM, with the
afterparty starting around 11:00 PM and ending at 3:00 AM (Closing time at 2:30 AM).
Before the main celebration, there will be a cocktail party for invited guests, held at
Neitsytniemen Kartano (Neitsytniemenkuja 12, 554400 Imatra) at 2:00 PM, where invited
parties will present their greetings to the guild. The next day, on March 17th at 12:00 PM,
there will be a herring breakfast at the university in the cellar of the student union building
and in the Vierula sauna facilities, for those who have signed up for it.

Buses will be provided for each interval. A form has been created for the buses so we know
how many buses we need for each interval. Please respond to the form even if you don't
need a bus for any interval. The deadline for the response is February 25th at 11:59 PM.

To the cocktail party

From the university at 1:00 PM.

From Holiday Club Saimaa at 1:30 PM.

From the main celebration back to the university

From 11:15 PM to 3:00 AM as many buses as needed. Buses will pass through the city
center, and it will be possible to get off along the way.

For the brunch (on March 17th, 2024)

From Holiday Club Saimaa at 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM (for those staying at the hotel and
participating in the herring breakfast).

If you arrive at the anniversary celebration by train from outside Lappeenranta, you can
either take the train to Lappeenranta and then take bus line 5 to the university, where free
buses will take you to the venue. Or you can take the train directly to Imatra and then take a
taxi (self bought) from there to Holiday Club Saimaa for the main celebration or to
Neitsytniemi Mansion for the cocktail reception.

The following sections provide information about the different parts of the celebration.

Cocktail Reception

The cocktail reception is for invited guests, during which they will present their greetings to
the guild. If you don't represent any organization but would like to present your greetings at
the cocktail reception, please contact the undersigned (via email at krkprojis@gmail.com or
on Telegram: @Samppa50). The cocktail reception will offer light snacks, sparkling wine,
and punch. It will be held at Neitsytniemi Mansion from 2:00 PM to 4:20 PM. There is one
larger room in the mansion for the greetings, as well as several smaller rooms. It's likely that
not everyone will be able to watch the greetings at the same time, so feel free to socialize
with other participants and enjoy the refreshments while waiting for your turn, ensuring not to
disrupt the flow of the event.

Please note that if you're staying at Holiday Club Saimaa from Saturday to Sunday, check-in
is only possible after 3:00 PM, and unfortunately, we cannot guarantee early check-in. If you
have specific preferences regarding the timing of the greetings, please contact the

Main Celebration
The main celebration will take place at Holiday Club Saimaa from 5:00 PM to around 11:00
PM. There will be round tables for 10 people, and we will try to accommodate seating
arrangements according to your preferences as best as possible. During the main
celebration, it's polite not to use your phone, and guests should remain at their tables during
speeches or songs, unless absolutely necessary. There will be breaks at appropriate
intervals during the main celebration, during which guests can take photos at the photo wall
and use their phones freely. A photographer will be present to capture moments from the
anniversary celebration.

Over 300 people will attend the main celebration, so we kindly ask that requests for speaking
be submitted in advance using the following form. We cannot guarantee that every request
will be accommodated, but we will do our best to include them in the program. Requests for
speaking can also be made using the form during the event, but due to the large number of
participants, we cannot guarantee their implementation.

Afterparty

The afterparty will take place in the same venue as the main celebration at Holiday Club
Saimaa. It will start around 11:00 PM after the main celebration ends. The legendary KRK
music pioneer, Punainen Jetta, will perform first around 11:30 PM! Following Punainen
Jetta's performance, Kube, one of the biggest names in Finnish rap, will take the stage! The
afterparty will end at 3:00 AM (Closing time at 2:30 AM). After the afterparty, free buses will
transport people back to Lappeenranta.

Herring breakfast

The herring breakfast (sillis) will be held on March 17, 2024, at 12:00 PM for those who have
signed up and want to recover from the previous day's celebrations with mimosas, food,
sauna, and hot tubs. The herring breakfast will be held in the cellar of the student union
building (Laserkatu 10) and in the Vierula sauna facilities (Skinnarilankatu 31). The student
union building and Vierula are located about 200m apart, and the hot tubs are located in the
student union building's parking lot. There will also be a Kaalimato bingo at the brunch!

Dress Code

The dress code for the celebration is formal attire, meaning a tailcoat / a full-length evening
gown / dark suit with academic honors. More information about the dress code can be found

Equality

As always at the anniversary celebrations, we expect everyone to behave courteously and

considerately towards other guests. Therefore, there is zero tolerance for harassment at the
event. While having fun and celebrating is encouraged, disrespect towards other guests will
not be tolerated. The equality and harassment contact persons ensuring the equality of the
celebration are Sonja Pellikka and Vili Kukkonen. You can contact them if you experience
any harassment or disrespectful behavior. They are bound by confidentiality, and they will
only proceed with a harassment case with your consent, so you can contact them
confidentially. There is no issue too small or too large to contact the harassment contact
