BINR DPIDA* MAIN PAKINR REALM
BLNALM DTIME MAO PAKOUT RIN
BOOL EVENT MATH PATALM RINR
BOUT EXC MCIN PATT ROUT

*DPIDA – This block loads into memory, but custom algorithms that reside in the FBM do not
function.

Note: The following Foundation Fieldbus blocks: AI, AO, DI, DO, MAI, MAO, MDI, MDO, PIDFF,
and UNIVFF function identically to a real CP270 and CP280, but control algorithms that reside in field
devices (Control in the Field, CIF) do not function in SCP.

Note: MVL, MVC and PTC are not supported by SCP, as these blocks cannot be deployed a current
Foxboro environment.

Summary of Defects Resolved in SCP Software in version 2.0

All known defects found within the SCP software prior to the product release have been resolved.

CP Block Issues
 CHARC Block Execution - when the Invert option was selected, an error was found in the reverse
characterization calculation. (305729)
 DCI Blocks Cause SCP Crash - DCI blocks, which include BIN, BINR, BOUT, IIN, IINR, IOUT, PLSOUT, RIN,
RINR, ROUT, PAKIN, PAKINR, and PAKOUT, would crash the SCP application when deploying controls.
(355889)
 Foundation Fieldbus Blocks Cause SCP crash - Foundation Fieldbus (FF) blocks, which include AI, AO,
DI, DO, MAI, and MAO would crash the SCP application when deploying controls. (326103)
 Alarm Simulation Time Support - CP block alarms time stamps used system team instead of simulation
time. (311655)
 Slow Block Execution for Time-Based Calculations – SCP is based on an internal time of 10 msec,
whereas most window applications run at 15 msec. The SCP was fixed to notify Windows to run at 10
msec. Prior to this fix, time calculation caused time sensitive blocks (ACCUM, PID, TIM, PLB) were
executed at 50% real time. (305758)
 Scenario Replay Failure - When replaying a scenario that contained references to SCP blocks, the
Scenario did not replay as it was recorded. The root cause was that not all SCP parameters were
exposed to DYNSIM. (317014, 395850)
 PLB Timers - PLB block timers did not function with simulation time, but with read Windows system
time. (401961)

Application Issues
 Multiple User Sessions Prevent Alarm Updates in Foxboro Current Alarm Display - when the user login
for the SCP application computer differs from that of the system running the Foxboro Current Alarm
Display (CAD), alarms did not update in the CAD due to Windows User Sessions. (305753)
 PID Blocking Error - When restarting CPs that was previously shutdown Windows did not release the
Process Identification (PID) which lead to a message PID Block. (321280)
SCPEngine
 View and Update Foxboro Block Parameters in DYNSIM - Foundation Fieldbus (FF) block parameters,
MODE_T, MODE_A, and MODE_N; and PID block parameter, SPT did not display valid feedback in the
DYNSIM monitor pane and would not allow users to update these parameters. Foxboro OMSET
commands do allow this functionality. (303960)
 Long Simulation Name Prevents Snapshot Save – Long DYNSIM simulation names did not save
snapshots. SCP was updated to allow longer names. (348695)
 Malfunctions Performance - For large controls sets, when ECB Malfunction was enabled by default, the
time to start the SCP engine was excessive and lead to feedback error in DYNSIM. The loading
performance was improved to prevent this error. (311662, 385540)
 Object Manager (OM) Rebuild Failure - The OMReset Tool contained the wrong path name in the SCP
Engine which prevented peer-to-peer rebuild. (311707, 330066)
SCPEngine Cross Referencing
 Cross Reference Issues for AIN, RIN, MAIN Blocks for Specific SCI Types - Cross Referencing conversion
was not accurate for AIN, RIN, MAIN blocks with SCI types 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 57, 58. (305719, 34132,
305736)
 Cross Reference Descriptions - Automatic cross reference generation did not include descriptions in
the description field. (311688)
 Cross Reference SimBridge Management - Cross referencing performance was slow when SCP
connected through a SimBridge. (305724)
 Cross Reference Issues for CIN, MCIN, and PLB blocks - CIN, MCIN, and PLB blocks connected to
FBM238 or 239 did not cross reference. Automatic cross reference generation also failed for these
blocks. (396459, 248123, 339483)
SCPEngine Performance
 SCP Application Crash After multiple days - A memory leak caused the SCP application to increase in
size over several days which eventually exceeded the available computer CPU. (407428, 388578,
341014, 372823, 402133)

SCP Snapshot Saving and Restoring

 Snapshot Restore for Foundation Fieldbus Blocks - On a snapshot reset, Foundation Fieldbus (FF)
blocks, AI, AO, DI, DO, MAI, MAO, did not function in IMAN mode. The root problem was that not all
block states were saved. (311646, 307644, 326731)
 Snapshot Restore for CALC, CALCA, LOGIC Blocks - On snapshot restore, CALC, CALCA, and LOGIC
blocks did not function as it did prior to restore. The root problem was that not all block states were
saved. (347632)
 Snapshot Restore for Sequence Logic - On a snapshot reset, sequence logic contained in IND and DEP
blocks did not function as it did prior to restore. The root problem was that not all block states were
saved. (402130, 402140, 401244, 305738, 305769, 407421, 318844, 375856, 326726, 383475, 402123)
SCP Virtual Switch Driver
 SCP Virtual Driver Update - The SCP Virtual Driver was revised to improve performance. Tag values
sometimes displayed with cyan colored backgrounds, which indicated bad quality, peer-to-peer
connections sometimes failed, and the CP heartbeat would sometime indicate an SCP failed. (318847,
311746, 337787)
SCP Launcher Performance
 SCP Launcher Updates - The SCP Launcher was updated to resolve several performance issues,
including occasional CP launch failure, SCP application crash on shutdown, batch file generation
failure, and other startup and licensing failures. (394603, 394330, 243542, 375788, 248120)
FAIM
 FAIM Performance - The FAIM engine was slow to start up with a large historian. SCP was updated to
pre-process the FAIM historian to prevent feedback errors in DYNSIM. (311678)
