ULTRASOUND SCAN – ABDOMEN AND PELVIS

Liver: Enlarged in size and measures 16.9 cm ,shows normal echopattern. IHBR/CBD – not
dilated. Hepatic veins and intrahepatic portal venous radicles appear normal .
No focal / diffuse lesion. Main portal vein – normal in caliber.

Gall bladder: Moderately distended, smooth walled. Wall thickness normal no mass/calculi seen
Pancreas: Appears normal in size and parenchymal echo texture. Pancreatic duct is not dilated.
Spleen: Normal in size and measures 9.0 cm , shape and position with normal echotexture
Kidneys:
 Right kidney measures 14.3 x 5.9 cm. Enlarged in size, however normal in shape and
parenchymal echotexture. Corticomedullary differentiation maintained. No pelvicalyceal
system dilatation. Renal sinus appears normal, with no evidence of calculi/mass.
 Left kidney not visualized

Urinary bladder: Normally distended, smooth walled. Wall thickness appears normal. No evidence
of calculi or mass lesion.

Uterus:
Two separate divergent horns are visualised .
Right sided horn measuring 4.5 x 2.8 x 2.0 cm & Left sided horn measuring 6.28 x 3.3 x 2.6 cm
Endometrium is normal within the two horns

Ovaries: Normal in size and echotexture. No adnexal mass.

Right ovary measures 3.0 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm (Vol ~ 6.3 cc).
Left ovary measures 3.2 x 2.2 x 1.4 Cm (Vol ~ 8.3 cc).

No e/o bowel wall thickening or abdominal lymphadenopathy.

No free fluid is seen in the pelvis. No e/o pleural effusion.

IMPRESSION:
 MILD HEPATOMEGALY.
 NON VISUALISATION OF LT KIDNEY- LIKELY ABSENT .
 ENLARGED RIGHT KIDNEY – LIKELY DUE TO COMPENSATORY HYPERTROPHY.
 UTERUS DIDELPHYS AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
Suggest clinical and lab correlation.
