Senior Process Engineer

About the Unit

Yara Technology and Projects (YTP), part of the Global Plants & Operational Excellence (YGP) business unit, focuses on improving existing
processes, products and developing new and innovative solutions. The vacancy is to join the Process Engineering team mainly based in
Brussels to support the ammonia process team.

Responsibilities
The main role will be lead process engineer for CCS and Haddock projects in Yara Sluiskil, Netherlands.

CCS Sluiskil Project is a 725 kt per year CO2 liquefaction, 12 kt storage and ship loading. It will reduce significantly the plant’s CO2
emissions and is a key project for Yara’s climate neutral ambitions. The project is currently in feasibility phase with plant start-up expected
end of 2024.
Haddock project aims to demonstrate the commercial operation of an integrated green ammonia production process produced by a 100
MW electrolyzer supplied by intermittent renewable energy sources.

After the project completion, the candidate will continue on others process engineering tasks: support to Plant operation or projects within
ammonia process mainly.

Define process design and prepare process deliverables under Yara’s scope of work (Sizing of all types of equipments, sizing of pipings
/ safety valves, prepare Process and Instrumentation Diagram, cause and effect diagram, control philosophy).
Update Aspen simulations (summer case evaluation, requirement of cooling media, input from Contractor’s information).
Prepare Process specifications for EPC/EPCm contract.
Be responsible for internal checks of process documents being prepared by Contractor and Vendors.
Ensure that the process design is safe and suitable for operation.
Ensure experience transfer from Yara plants are built into the plant engineering, fabrication and operation.
Assist the Contractor in solving technical queries during the procurement, fabrication and site construction.
Participate in HAZOP and 3D model review workshops, Value engineering sessions.
Assist/participate in commissioning activities and start-up.

Profile
Degree in Chemical Process Engineering or equivalent
At least 8 years of experience in Process Engineering, including basic engineering design
Aspen simulation experience
Experience in ammonia process production
Understanding of project execution and Capital Value Process is a plus
Leadership and organisation required: capability to manage EPC/EPCm Contractors
