LETTER OF MOTIVATION

Since childhood, I have been captivated by the wonders of engineering and the principles
behind them. It was a natural progression for me to choose Mechanical Engineering as my
undergraduate major. Knowing that my goals needed to be well-grounded, I put in the best of
my efforts to ensure that I secured admission to the prestigious Bachelor's Program in
Mechanical Engineering at Leelaben Dashrathbhai Ramdas Patel Institute of Technology &
Research (LDRP), an esteemed institution under Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya University (KSV).
This milestone of my career had been achieved successfully.

I chose to work my way to the top through an engineering degree in the field of Mechanical
Engineering. I feel that Mechanical Engineering is where I would fully dedicate myself, and this
is the field where my life will scintillate. Engineering is a profession which requires a person to
be inherently inquisitive and experimental by nature. I firmly believe that inquisitive and
explorative attitude leads to constant learning process.

My academic journey began with distinction in my 10th grade in 2013 and continued with
outstanding results in my 12th grade in 2015. During my undergraduate years, I gained strong
foundation in fundamental mechanical engineering subjects such as Mathematics, Engineering
Graphics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, Dynamics of
Machinery, Kinematics of Machines, Computer Aided Design, Theory of Machines, Heat & Mass
Transfer, Fluid Power Engineering, Thermal Power Plant Engineering, Refrigeration and Air-
conditioning, etc.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I fulfilled industrial training at Gandhinagar Thermal

Power Station, which spanned a few weeks. This involvement provided me with valuable
insights into the industry and allowed me to gain a detailed understanding of its operations.
Furthermore, to enhance my proficiency in specific subjects, I pursued online certification
through NPTEL in Strength of Materials conducted by IIT Kharagpur, achieving a commendable
score of 75% after completing the 12-week course. Additionally, I undertook an 8-week online
course on Fluid Machines from the same platform, achieving a significant score of 86%. These
courses significantly improved my skills in mechanical subjects and contributed to my overall
knowledge and expertise in the field. Utilizing the knowledge of all the subjects I successfully
cleared GATE-2020 exam with a commendable score of 662. Moreover, Over the span of two
years at ODHAV MULTI INDUSTRIES(OMI), I gained valuable professional experience by
working at OMI, a company specializing in the manufacture of steel bars, binding wire coils,
nails, wheelbarrows, metal sheets, and aggregate of various sizes.
Now, I am interested in pursuing an advanced academic program at TU Darmstadt. I have
conducted research on the career prediction that follows the successful completion of this course.
Additionally, I am drawn to your university due to its excellent curriculum for the master’s program
in Mechanics. This program spans four semesters and commences in the summer of 2024. One of
the key attractions for me is the fact that this program is demonstrated in English, which aligns well
with my language proficiency and scholastic goals. I have taken the IELTS test to support my
proficiency in the English language. I achieved an overall score of 7.0 bands, indicating a strong
command of English. I consider this proficiency will greatly assist me in successfully pursuing my
master's course at your university.

Why German university? Because the standard of higher education in Germany is very high, and
the fact that many of Germany’s institutions of higher learning charge little or no tuition fee by
international comparison apprised me of the importance Germany holds in higher education.

My academic and professional experiences have instilled in me a deep-seated desire for further
learning, perseverance, creativity, and the ability to thrive under pressure. These qualities drive
me to explore new horizons at TU Darmstadt, which I believe will not only enrich my personality
but also enhance my employability and credibility. I am particularly excited about the prospect of
learning from capable and research-oriented faculty in your department. The unique
infrastructure, esteemed faculty, and abundant resources of TU Darmstadt motivate me to be
a part of this institution. I am confident that my qualifications make me a strong candidate for
graduate study, and I sincerely hope for the opportunity to join your esteemed university.
