NOVALUX EPOXY FLOOR FINISH 5421

Descriptions : Novalux Epoxy Floor Finish 5421 is a high solids, heavy duty, two
components, catalyzed polyamide epoxy coating formulated for
demanding industrial requirements. It dries to a tough, high gloss
fnish with excellent resistance to alkalis, abrasion, corrosion and
chemical attack.

Recommended Uses : As a thin film floor coating on concrete floors mainly for
Warehouse, Assembling Plant, Food Processing Plant, Chemical
Pilot Plant, Supermarket Store, Parking Decks, Repair Shops,
Wineries, Aircraft Hangars and applicable places.

Advantages : It protects concrete against mechanical abrasion, heavy load, high

impact, anti skid, chemical resistance and ease of cleaning.

Surface Preparation Old concrete substrates are prepared using mechanical methods
such as sand blasting, shot blasting, power grinding or wire
brushing to remove any existing surface contaminants such as
loose paint, weak concrete, chemicals, oil, dirt, and waxes. Lack of
adequate surface preparation and poor adhesion can result in de-
lamination of the floor from the substrate.
NOVALUX EPOXY FLOOR FINISH 5421
Recommended : The concrete standard surface profile should be of fine 150 grit
Surface Preparation sand paper for light traffic and 60 grit sand paper for severe traffic
conditions.
New Concrete
New concrete floors should be cured for at least 28 days be fore
applications of the synthetic flooring system. A thin layer of weak
concrete called laitance is common on the surface of new
concrete. Bonding of synthetic flooring to this surface may result in
de-lamination.
In new concrete floors, as well as some older floors, excess of
moisture evaporation may cause blistering and failure of a caoting.
A maximum moisture content of 5% within the concrete must be
maintained.
Application Methods : The application methods for flooring systems depend on the type of
flooring. Primers and low viscosity coating are normally applied by
spray, roller or squeege. Self-leveling system are normally applied
by trowel, then a spike roller to release trapped air bubbles.
Application Conditions : Temperature Substrate : Minimum 3ºC above dewpoint air temp.
