2. Players are placed in circle formation with two or more children in the center of the circle. The object of the

( 15 mins) game is for the center players to try to touch the ball while circle players are passing it. After a brief time (15-
birdie-in-the-cage
20 seconds) choose new players to enter the circle. If scoring is desired, center players can count the
number of touches they made. The ball should move rapidly. Passing to a neighboring player is not allowed.
Play can be limited to a specific type of pass (bounce, two-hand, push).
Twenty-One
Players are in file formation by teams. Each player is permitted a long shot (from a specified distance) and a
follow-up shot. The long shot, if made, counts 2 points and the short shot counts 1 point. The follow-up shot
must be made from the spot where the ball was recovered from the first shot. The normal one-two-step
rhythm is permitted on the short shot from the place where the ball was recovered. The first player scoring
a total of 21 points is the winner. If the ball misses the backboard and basket altogether on the first shot, the
second shot must be taken from the corner.
3. Variations:
( 10 mins) 1. Start with a simpler game that allows dribbling before the second shot.
2. Allow players to shoot as long as every shot is made. This means that if both the long and the short shot
are made, the player goes back to the original position for a third shot. All shots made count and the
shooter can continue until a miss.
3. Play with team competition, with each player contributing to the team score.
4. Use various combinations and types of shots.

4. Wrap-up (5’) Do an activity cool down review
