•Obtain assistance from others:

§ ATC can help with position and ground speed.

Be aware that ATC communication of transponder

information could be erroneous.

•Radio Altimeter
EGPWS Terrain

Summary
Summary

• The aircrew’s recognition of and initial

reaction to a URA event are critical
• The most important function of aircrew
during an in flight URA event is to maintain
control over the A/C flight trajectory and
energy situation by selection of attitude and
power settings so the A/C flight parameters
remain within normal limits.
