2. Statement of the Problem

Digital wallet is an integral part of the modern society. By consolidating debit
and credit cards into a single app, a digital wallet frees up room in traditional
wallet. Instead of fumbling for wallet and holding up the line, just tap the
phone to make the transaction. Using a digital wallet makes online buying
simpler than ever. According to (Dulal, 2019) Khalti can be a solution for
transforming physical wallet into the virtual or electronic wallet. (Lee, 2006)
found that Chinese online and mobile banking users were mainly men and
issue of security was the major factor that motivated people to opt for
online banking. (Sardar R., 2016) found
1
that digital wallets have emerged as the most significant contributor in
pushing cashless and electronic payments. By 2024, digital wallet payments
are anticipated to make up 40.5% of North American e-commerce purchases,
according to the 2021 Global Payments Report. Digital wallets offer a
number of advantages to both parties to a transaction. The majority
of wallet applications are simple to incorporate into your e-commerce
site or point of sale. Digital wallets can simplify daily life and are
convenient. One app on the phone allow to add all of the payment options,
loyalty cards, gift cards, and even identity information. Yet, it's crucial to be
aware of the dangers connected with keeping all of this data in an
unprotected area. One should take precautions to safeguard digital wallet

5. Review of Literature
A review of the literature involves reviewing research papers or other
pertinent concepts in a connected field of study. It is information gathered on
the specific study topic from numerous sources. A literature review's
objective is to present what knowledge and theories have been developed on
a topic in the past, as well as their strengths and limitations. To obtain the
essential knowledge about the field of study, a researcher should read books,
journals, research papers, and other published reports.

For any study aim, literature is often evaluated in two ways. They are:
❖ Theoretical Literature Review
❖ Empirical Review

6. Research Methodology
Research methodology refers to the entire research process and is a
systematic approach to solving research problems. This study employs the
descriptive component based on both technical and logical features and
includes quantitative methods to a significantly greater extent.
Research methodology covers the following topics: research design, data
gathering, sample techniques, fieldwork, analysis, and interpretation of
research results.

6.1 Population and Sample

Population refers to a sizable group of respondents whose actions
influence the survey's findings. The population used for this study will
be the entire population of the Kathmandu Valley. The sample size is a
representative of the large population. The sample will be taken by using
convenience sampling method to achieve the objective of study. As a
sample of the study, sixty questionnaires will be distributed. 60 people
will hence be the study’s sample.

6.2 Data Collection Procedure

For the data collection, simple random sampling techniques were
employed. The fundamental sampling technique is simple random
sampling, in which we choose a sample of participants from a larger
group to investigate (a population).
Sources of data

3
• Primary data: The primary data has been collected through the
consumer survey; set of questionnaire and discussions have been
carried out with the consumer personally.
Questionnaire: A Questionnaire needs to be prepared which can
take information from the respondents in an appropriate, simple
and cost- effective manner. The Questionnaire will be sent via-
email or Facebook in order to cover as much as possible.

• Secondary data: The secondary data will be collected through

the various internet sources, sites which is primarily published
by Khalti.

6.3 Data Analysis Procedure

After the data are properly collected and presented, data analysis will
be conducted. Simple statistical tool will be used, which are as follows:
• Statistical tools
• Percentage
• Bar-diagram
• Pie charts

7. Limitation of Study

As every research has its own limitations that tends to narrow the area of
study. It is caused due various unavoidable hindrances and undeniable
circumstances. The major limitations of this study are mentioned below:

• The population as a whole may not be represented by the

60 responses. So the results might not be appropriate to
everyone.
• The Research will be conducted using a sample survey, which
is
prone to bias and prejudice errors.
• Since market segmentation would not be done, results may
have varied.
• As most respondents in this study will be in the 20–30 age
range,
there may have been sampling error.
• Most of the data used in this study will also be based on
secondary data mainly official website of Khalti and blogs
related to Khalti.

8. Organization of the Study

4
Generally, the research report is divided into three different chapters in order
to make the study feasible, structured, add readability and more convenient.

8.1 Chapter One – Introduction

It deals with the introductory part. It consists of a background of the
study, digital scenario in Nepal, the profile of the organization, statement
of the problem, the objective of the study, review of literature, methods of
data collection, limitations of the study, and definition of terms.

8.2 Chapter Two – Result and Analysis

Chapter two deals with data presentation and analysis of results and
findings. It exhibits a systematic presentation of data collection and
analysis of results and findings of project work.

8.3 Chapter Three – Summary and Conclusion

Chapter three, the last chapter of the study focuses on evaluating and
interpreting the results obtained. Further, it also deals with the present
implication of results obtained and conclusions drawn useful for future
studies.
