Tutorial 5 – Chapter 10

a) Regular virtual meetings – The company can host regular meetings where both in-
office and remote members can participate in giving their input. During the meeting,
they can use video conferencing tools like Zoom or Microsoft Teams to facilitate
face-to-face interactions while focusing on a sense of connection and inclusion.

Transparent communication skills – Tech Innovate Inc must establish clear and
transparent communication channels for sharing updates, announcements and
implementing decisions. They must also utilize tools like Microsoft Teams to create
dedicated channels for project related discussions to ensure everyone has access
to relevant information regardless of their location.

b) Open communication – Team members should feel free to express their feelings on
their given tasks and have a sense of belonging. For example, Tech Innovate Inc is
facing a lack of cohesion. The team has not bonded well, and there is little sense of
camaraderie or mutual trust.

Team building activities- The company can organize both virtual and in-person team
building activities to foster closer bonds between the team members. These
activities act as an enhancement to getting familiar with each other while building
mutual trust among the team members.

c) Problem-solving team – This is usually an assemblage formed to solve a particular

problem or improve activities within their own department. For example, the team
struggles to make decisions, often revisiting discussions multiple times without
reaching a consensus. With this, the team will present their findings in a meeting
once they have conducted research and arrive at a proposed solution that everyone
agrees on.

Functional teams – This includes members from several vertical levels of the
hierarchy to perform specific organizational functions. For example, team members
under every different department like the finance department will attend a separate
short meeting held by their head of departments to discuss their job scope, roles
and tasks to clarify any doubts or ambiguities.
