PERSENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS: es un evento que no ha terminado “still


happening”. Sub + Has/ have + been + present participle.
Question: Has/Have + Sub + been+ past participle
For: how long something has been happening (period of time)

Since: how long something has been happening ( since 19997,

INFINITIVES: “to” at the beginning. Exp: to talk, to love, to run.


Some verbs take only infinities (agree, decide, hope, manage, plan,
promise, and wish.

It is + adjective + to infinite.
It is hard for Max to be organized.

Promise / refuse / manage / decide / fail / afford /


You are (requested, expected, supposed, required) to + infinitive
I want you to stop.
I stopped to buy fish in the market (INFINITIVES)
I stopped buying fish in the market (GERUNDIO)

Si ESTA EN EL PASADO NO ES INFINITIVO.


I remember coming to this lake in summer. (GERUNDIO)
Remember to come at 5 (INFINITIVE)

GERUND: adding “-ing” at to the verb. Exp: running, playing,


talking.
Some verbs take only. (avoid, delay, dislike, discuss, enjoy, finish and
don’t mind.
Verbo funciona como sujeto es gerundio.

Enjoy / love / Fancy / like / Hate / dislike / can’t stand > puede
usarse con un gerundio Exp: i enjoy editing videos.

Avoid / regret / suggest / recommend / admit / deny > luego va el


gerundio

Could > can be used to refer to past actions and to express ability.
Use this modal to show that you are uncertain if something is true.
Exp: We could meet on Sunday (Podria)
May > is formal and is used to express actions that are more likely
to happen. Use this modal to say if something is possible now o in
the future.
Exp: Sue may take a vacation soon.

Might > is informal and used with less likely events. Use this model
to show what you are uncertain if something is true, or to say
something is possible now or in the future.
Exp: Ed isn’t here. He might be sick.
