(PROBABILITY OF SIMPLE EVENT)
Submitted By:
CONTENT STANDARD:
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
The learner is able to is able to formulate and solve practical problems involving probability
of simple events.
OBJECTIVES:
I. SUBJECT MATTER
II. PROCEDURE
Directions: Arrange in correct order the 3 “R’s” and “ESP” steps in solving problems
involving sides and angles of a polygon.
In the cut-out cartolina and PPT presentation, there are steps in solving problems. The
students will arrange it according to its correct sequence. After choosing and posting
the answer that was written in the cartolina on the board, the same student will find
the answer on the PPT presentation. (ICT Integration)
Prove/check the answers. (6)
Relate the unknown and the values given in the problem. (3)
These steps are very useful in problem solving; this will be our guide in solving problems
involving sides and angles of a polygon.

Remember:
The angles formed by the sides of a polygon are called interior angles of a polygon. The
angles formed where its sides are extended are called exterior angles of a polygon.
The sum of the interior angles of a convex polygon with n sides is given by S= (n-2)
180⁰.
The sum of the exterior angles of a convex polygon (one at each vertex) is 360⁰.
The measure of each interior angle of a regular polygon represented an r is r=
( n−2 ) 180 °
.
n
Regular polygon is an equiangular (equal angles) and equilateral (equal sides) polygon.
The perimeter of the polygon is represented as P, and the formula to get the perimeter of a
regular polygon is P = number of sides (n) x length of a side.
The interior angle and its adjacent exterior angle form a linear pair. It means that the sum of
their measures is 180⁰.
Problem: Liza bought a regular hexagon jewelry storage for her mom as a Mother’s Day gift. If its
perimeter is 120 cm, what is the measure of each side?
Formula:
S= _______(1pt)
Solving:
s = _______(1pt)
s = _______(1pt)

IV. ASSIGNMENT
Solve for the measure of the unknown angles/sides. Write down your solution on separate sheet of
paper.
The perimeter of June’s dog house is 360 cm. June was assigned to find the measure of the
length of its two sides, one of its interior angle, and one exterior angle adjacent to ∠ U . The
measures of the doghouse are shown in the figure below.
Find:
2. ¿¿ OU =¿ ________
3. ¿¿ US=¿ ________
