ORGANIZATION OF THE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 98 of the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160), and
Article 184 Rule XXIII of its Implementing Rules and Regulations, a Local School Board (LSB) shall be
established in every local government unit to act as advisory body of the Local Chief Executive and
the Sanggunian in matters of education;

NOW THEREFORE, I, KIRK A. ASIS, Mayor of the City of Bayugan, Agusan del Sur, by
virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. Organization. The Local School Board of the City Government of Bayugan,
Agusan del Sur is hereby organized as follows:

SECTION 2. Functions. The Local Health Board (LHB) shall:

a. Determine, in accordance with the criteria set by the Department of Education (DepEd),
the annual supplemental budgetary needs for the operation and maintenance of public
schools within Bayugan City and the supplementary local cost of meeting such needs,
which shall be reflected in the form of annual school board budget corresponding to its
share of the proceeds of the special levy on real property constituting the special
education fund (SEF) and such other sources of revenue as the Code and other laws or
ordinances may provide;
b. Authorize the City Treasurer to disburse funds from the Special Education Fund (SEF)
pursuant to the budget prepared in accordance with applicable existing rules and
regulations;
c. Serve as advisory committee to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) on educational
matters such as, but not limited to, the necessity for and the uses of local appropriations
for educational purposes;
d. Recommend changes in the names of public schools within the territorial jurisdiction of
Bayugan City for enactment by the SP; and
e. Meet at least once a month or as often as may be necessary.

SECTION 3. Repealing Clause. All other existing orders or issuances inconsistent with this
Executive Order are hereby revoked and/or rescinded accordingly.

SECTION 4. Effectivity. This Order shall take effect immediately.
