PROGRAMME

The ClimAct Initiative (TCI) has launched the Climate Leadership

Programme— a six-month comprehensive and cross-disciplinary
training programme for young people from across India, who are
interested in expanding their understanding on the realities of
climate change and becoming leaders of youth-led climate action.
The programme aims to empower, guide, and equip these young
climate leaders with the knowledge, skills, and mindset on core
climate change themes, its intersectional aspects, and key green
and soft skills that can help them drive effective actionable
initiatives and inspire meaningful change to address this global
crisis.

The Climate Leadership Programme goes beyond the basics of

climate change and dives into cross-disciplinary aspects of
communications, advocacy, project management, and eco-
entrepreneurship, among others, so that the youth are not only
able to lead climate action but also expand collaborations and
networks with peers and experienced professionals in this space.
 Duration Mid-August 2024 to mid-February 2025

Commitment 5–6 hours per week

COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAMME

Virtual A 4-month training component that will include

training online expert lectures and self/group-learning
assignments focusing on core climate change
themes and key green and soft skills.
Weekly virtual sessions of 2–3 hours
(conducted live), followed by self and/or group
learning of up to 3 hours/week.

In-person A potential in-person training with the entire

training cohort.
The training will focus on community building
and joint learning and working through
specialized exercises to create a sense of
belonging and co-ownership.
Mentorship A 2-month action component that will connect
/internship participants with either mentors for one-on-one
guidance to develop their own climate action
project or with potential partner organizations
for an internship to gain hands-on experience.

ABOUT THE CLIMACT INITIATIVE
The ClimAct Initiative (TCI) (registered as ClimAct Foundation) is a
not-for-profit organisation working towards creating holistic and
intersectional climate education through solutions-driven and action-
oriented approaches. TCI aims to tackle the lack of integrated and
intersectional knowledge and action related to the climate and
environmental crises. Our mission is to equip communities of youth
and citizens to take effective climate action through:
