VIRTUAL EXCHANGE

Hip Programme
2021

INTRODUCTION

Virtual Exchange is another Programme under Highly Immersive Programme (HIP)


initiated by English Language Panel of SJK(C) Yuk Hin. The programme offers target
pupils an online platform to share cultures and experiences to friends beyond
geographical boundary. Pupils equip themselves with necessary knowledge for the
purpose of sharing, by the means of active learning appraoch, thus promoting long life
learning.

RATIONAL

21st century skills stipulated in Dokumen Standard Kurikulum aspire to produce


informed, inquisitive and communicate-competent pupils. Opportunity and supporting
environments therefore should be planned and maintained to promote the growth of pupils
with such qualities.

2.1 To promote the use of English language as means of communication.

2.2 To develop independent learners through active learning approach.

2.3 To expose pupils to different cultures and lifestyles which may not available in
immediate environment.

10.0 IMPLEMENTATION

For each session, five pupils from upper primary level are listed as presenters based
on volunteering basis. Presenters are briefed on PowerPoint presentation they may
come up with based on topics given. Guidance on contents and format of their
PowerPoint will be provided if necessary, throughout the process.

A rehearsal on presentation may needed to train and check presenter’s confidence


and delivery fluency. Teachers should conduct a rehearsal in class days before the
actual presentation.

On the actual day, conference room is set up and pupils across upper primary level
will join the conference as audience. The chronology of the event is as below:
