Photo frames Crochet pattern

Materials needed: Skill level: Beginner-intermediate

Crochet hook size 1.75-2mm
DMC Petra cotton thread (or alternative cotton/4 ply yarn of your choice)
*Optional; length of wire per each frame around 7-8” long
*Optional cling film/plastic wallet cover to protect the front of the picture
Scissors, Sewing needle, photo of your choice and glue (preferably glue gun)
Selection of photos of your choice

Thank you for downloading one of my crochet patterns, these mini photo
frames are perfect for using up yarn scraps!! Created from using crochet
thread (or yarn of your choice and optional wire), they also make perfect
smaller projects for beginners to practice stitches or to brighten up any room
from a choice of 4 different styles!!
I use U.S terminology in my patterns but stitches given can be easily
converted to UK terminology (which I also provide in the abbreviations list)!
You are welcome to sell/ give as gifts/ share pictures of your work made from
this pattern with credit given to Mintilla as the designer. Resale, alterations
or use of my pictures (either via the internet or otherwise), is strictly not

Abbreviations:
Chn= Chain MR= Magic Ring
Inc= Increase Dec= Decrease
SS= Slip Stitch BLO= Back loops only
St= Stitch F.O= Fasten off
USA Terminology: UK terminology:
SC= Single Crochet DC= Double Crochet
DC= Double Crochet TR= Treble Crochet
HDC= Half double crochet HTC= Half Treble Crochet
Tr= Treble crochet DTC= Double treble crochet

Key Points:

Work is made starting with chains, and if using wire-

crocheting around the wire as you work.

Special stitches:

There are no special stitches in the pattern, remembering to

keep your tension nice and tight and to check which
terminology you are using before you start.

For clarity, each frame has been labelled in colour

according to the photo below:

Oval frame (Green):

1. Chn 81, SS to form a ring

2. If using wire, add here, Sc around the wire and into
each chain.
3. SC 10, inc each st
4. DC 5 in the same st, Sc in next 3, Rpt around and F.O

Square frame (yellow):

1. Chn 101, SS to form a ring

2. If using wire, add here, SC around the wire; SC 24, inc
x4
3. *SC 25, (SC1, chn 2, SC1 in the same stitch), Rpt around
4. Chn 5, Skip 4, SC into 5th St, Rpt around
5. SS into the first Chn 5 space, *(DC 3, Chn 2, DC 3 , SS in
same Chn space), SC 1 in next St* Rpt from * to * F.O

Circular frame (pink)

1. Chn 81, SS to form a ring

2. If using wire, add here, SC around the wire into
each Chn
3. Chn 3, SS to 4th St, Rpt around
4. DC 3, Chn 2, DC 3 into the Chn 3 space, Sc 1 in next
Chn 3 space, Rpt around and F.O

Rectangular frame (blue)

1. Chn 101, SS to form a ring

2. If using wire, add here, SC around the wire into each St

3. *SC 24, DC !, TR1, Chn 2, SS to top of the TR, DC in same

space, RPt from * to* and F.O

Assembly:

Sew a small piece of thread/cotton onto the back of the

frame for hanging.

Select your chosen picture, if using plastic wallet or cling

film to protect your picture; cut to size and glue to the front
of the picture.

Carefully glue the edges of the frame and place on top of

your picture, pressing the edges firmly.

Hey presto, your mini picture frames are complete!!
