VENDOR's Responsibility VENDOR shall take full responsibilty for mechanical design, provision of materials, fabrication, inspection, testing, and quality of workmanship unless agreed otherwise with COMPANY. In addition, Telecommunication Cables shall also comply with laws and regulations approved by local government. Before design and manufacture of Telecommunication Cables, if any contradiction between this Technical Specification and relevant technical specifications or correspondences, the PURCHASER shall be consulted and written confirmation from the PURCHASER shall be obtained before any further work starts. IEC 61156-5 Multicore and symmetrical pair/quad cables for digital communications - Part 5 Conflicting Requirements, Deviation and Substitution In the event of a conflict between this specification and other specifications or correspondence, VENDOR shall consult with the COMPANY’s designated representative and a ruling, in writing, shall be obtained before any work is started. Where Provincial or National Codes conflict with this specification, the more rigid requirement shall govern Any deviation from this specification must be approved, in writing, by the COMPANY's designated representative. Alternatives may be offered for materials and fabrication, if technically or economically justified and provided that they meet the requirements of the applicable codes, standards and specifications. B PAGE 10 OF 20 34 40 44 Order of Precedence for Documents All conflicts between the requirements of this specification, related contract documents, national / international documents, codes, engineering practices and the requisition shall be referred to COMPANY/PURCHASER for clarification. Should any conflict occur in the application of these specifications, the order of precedence shall be as follows: 1) PURCHASER order (including attachments) and variations thereon; 2) Data sheets and drawings; 3) This Technical Specification; 4) Project Specification in conjunction with native standard; 5) International codes and standards. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENT General Requirements Cables included in this specification shall be suitable for installation above or under ground in industrial plant areas with hazardous atmospheres. All external signal cables and control cables shall be manufactured with twist, extruded insulation, crosslinking, fire resisting technology. All cables shall be water, oil, UV resistant, abrasion resistant, gas vapour tight and ‘compatible with the environment and flame retardant specified as per IEC 60332. All cables shall comply with IEC recommendations. Cables used for external installation shall be armoured, Armour type shall be round steel wire. Lead sheathing shall be specified for underground cables, where considerable soil contamination by liquids aggressive to the cable insulant is anticipated, otherwise, protection approach by PVC or galvanized steel conduit shall be provided. The outer sheath of telecommunicaticn cables shall be immune to the effects of ultra Violet radiation. The inner sheath shall be extended to fill all spaces between cores to prevent the passage of gas or other noxious substance along the cable. Within building, cables installed between equipment and/or rooms shall be un-armoured. Flame retardant cables according to IEC 60332 shall be used for outside and inside telecommunication cables as a minimum requirement. Fire resistant cables according to IEC 60331 shall be fire resistant where route pass through a high heat area used for Fire Alarm system, PA/GA system. The wire or cable should have a temperature rating of 75°C as minimum, high temperature insulation should be used in areas of expected high temperature, such as furnace areas. The overall jacket material should be moisture resistant, abrasion resistant and compatible with the environment and flame retardant specified as per IEC 60332. ‘The preferred shielding is aluminized polyester film with an overall spiral wrap that has 25 present overlap. The shield should be electrically in contact with a copper drain wire that is along the pair of wires. The shield should be electrically insulated both inside and outside. ‘Twisted wire should have a minimum of 20 crossovers per meter. For wire pair identification, number coding or color coding shall be used. For all shielded cables, shield shall be insulated from the metal armour. Tor individual and overall shielded cables, each individual shield shall be insulated from others and from the averall shield For cables to be installed on trays, the over sheath shall be made of flame retardant PVC or an elastomeric compound and resistant to petroleum products, which satisfies the requirements of IEC 60332. The armour shall be galvanized round steel wire supplemented by a helix of galvanized steel tape to keep the armour wires tight. The thickness of the galvanized steel tape shall be 0.3 mm. An overall jacket shall be provided for the cable. Identifications printed onto individual core insulation shall be permanent and abrasion resistant ‘The final cable make-up shall be homogenous and circular in cross section. No splices are permitted in any cable conductors. Continuous conductors shall be used. 7.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING The cable shall be thoroughly ‘ested as a pre condition for acceptance. The Acceptance Tests shall be conducted in two stages as follows: BASIC DESIGN DOC. NO.: GEN-TEL-SPC-0013 REV. B PAGE 19 OF 20 © The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT); @ The Site Acceptance Test (SAT). The contractor shall submit for purchaser's review and approval, a complete plan for the factory and site acceptance testing. This plan must be complete with sufficient detail to indicate the exact nature of each test, time required, expected results and step-by-step procedure. The plan shall be submitted at least four weeks in advance to the FAT. The objective of the FAT is to verify that the cable as designed for delivery to site meets or exceeds the specified requirements. Inspection and testing of the cable shall meet the requirements as per the ‘Standards and Specifications listed in Section 2. 8.0 GUARANTEE AND WARRANTY ‘Any cables purchased under this specification shall be provided in accordance with the purchaser's order terms and conditions. The cable vendor shall disclose to the purchaser each proposed design. manufacturing procedure, material, component. or assembly which does not have at least 2 years satisfactory field-operating track record in a similar service. Vendor shall be regularly engaged in manufacture of Telecommunication Cables of similar type, size and electrical characteristics and those products have been in ‘satisfactory used in similar services for not less than 3 years. 10.0 DOCUMENT REQUIREMENT Each document submitted for review must be clear, legible, complete and properly identified. Failure to provide adequate documents may result in them being returned without review at Vendor's expense. In that event, Vendor will be considered not to have formerly submitted the documents. List of drums per cable, Any information for glands For fire resistant cables: fire resistance behaviour (temperature/duration) eoereerereccee 11.0 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING The Contractor shall handle all the cables carefully at all times to prevent damage, breaking and scoring. The Contrector shall not install damaged cables. All the cables shall be stored in sheltered areas and covered to prevent exposure. All the cables shall be stored in a clean, dry environment where it is protected from weather, dirt, fumes, water, construction debris, and physical damage.
