BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Comforter Marketing was formed to carry out projects for young people without employment so as to
maximize their opportunities and create employment in Victoria Falls. The directors for the company are
Dzingai and Mirriam Magama sharing 50% shares respectively and we got three business partners as
well. The company is 100% Zimbabwean owned and it is in line with the government policy of
indigenization to create self sustenance and employment. It comprises of youths trying to make ends
meet through self motivational programmes and projects. Currently, we are into horticulture, piggery,
chicken rearing broilers and road runners (chicken makhaya) as we call them. The project was inspired
by Roots Nursery is Pretoria, South Africa which is owned by a brother and is our inspiration. We get
clues and advice from them always.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Comforter Marketing was formed by the two directors and has been operational for four years now. We
also got three business partners in the form of youths unemployed who partner us into this noble
program. Through the years, we have learnt and discovered customer needs and we can safely say we
are now in a better position to meet our clients’ expectations. We have established ourselves as a
supplier to our customers and a customer to our suppliers. We have a lasting relationship with all our
clients and we put value to all their needs. We have a variety of flowers, fruit trees, herbs and exotic
trees at our nursery. We managed to connect raw water at our nursery and that has since eased our
water bill. We also have broilers that we are keeping at the site and the manure is being recycled for
compost. We also do potting soil at the site. We also have a bigger piece of land at the nearest rural
village of Monde situated within five kilometers from the town. That is where we are doing piggery and
rearing road runners (chicken makhaya). We also want to do an orchard there. The Moringa Tree is so
common here and we are contemplating growing it and establishing a market where they can make use
of it to produce medicine and tablets since it is believed to be very useful. We are also a registered
company and are compliant in all our taxes.

Comforter Marketing urgently needs to borrow US$5 000.00 to help its working capital. The company
has an opportunity to grow and employ a lot of youths since it has a wider vision and expectations and is
therefore seeking a boost owing to working capital inadequacies. The company’s business has outgrown
its funding, hence the need of a loan of US$5 000.00 to enable it to boost its capacity utilization to over
100%. The funds will be used to connect raw water to the plot in the rural area, establish green houses,
fence the area and erect fish ponds at the plot. We are also anticipating cattle fattening project and
rearing as well especially this year of drought and goat rearing so as to fully diversify our business plan.
NATURE OF BUSINESS AND ITS CORE ACTIVITIES
Comforter Marketing is a 100% Zimbabwean owned company that specializes in horticulture. The
company is also into broiler rearing and piggery. The company is incorporated in terms of the Company’s
Act of Zimbabwe and also registered with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority. The company commands
quite a reasonable market share in the industry, but we feel that it is still operating below its potential.
Within an environment created by this borrowing, Comforter Marketing intends to spread its wings and
diversify operations and venture into livestock and fishery. This also can allow the company to boost its
base in order to meet its demand, grow its sales volumes and the continuous process of reviewing its
internal -efficiencies-mix to optimize resource output.
1. CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT
The business is currently operating well below its normal capacity due to working capital inadequacies.
The borrowing will help the society and business people get fresh flowers and herbs on time. All orders
will be fully and timely completed and operations will operate at full throttle owing to the availability of
funds and the general environment created by this borrowing. This will also boost the company and
enable us to purchase a van so as to easy our supply capacity.
2. EMPLOYMENT CREATION
As the business grows due to the funding it will help create employment for the community.
3. EXPORT POTENTIAL
The business does export services; we are supplying services to Zambia, Botswana and Namibia. Of late
the business has had to ignore some requests due to reduced capacity owing to working capital
inadequacies. Within the environment created by this borrowing, the business will be able to expand
such projects within the SADC region, thereby earning the much needed working capital.

be there to serve and provide all. Zambia and Botswana are also very close and we always supply some
services to them. Of late we are also having clients from as far as Namibia and the potential is still there
to penetrate further in the region. There are also a lot of functions and conferences that are always held
in the town and the demand by florists for fresh flowers is very high. We will be there to serve them
closer and efficiently and cheaper.
There are a lot of individuals and companies who are also inspiring for the same projects. We however

The management is guided by its core values in strategically positioning the company. A budget is set for
the year. It is then formulated through the use of performances, current environments and anticipated
future activities. With the introduction of the USD as the functional currency, forecasting has been made
easy as inflation has been reduced to one digit. The processes are undertaken by different members of
staff at different levels. An independent chartered accountant reviews the accounts periodically.
