STATEMENT OF INQUIRY :
Systematic and fair scientific development leads to innovative growth for the betterment of
the community.
INQUIRY QUESTIONS :
Factual :
What is systematic development? How innovative uses of lenses have opened the doors
of medical science
Conceptual :
How does light travel ?
Does the speed of light change in different mediums ?
Debatable :
Scientific developments should be made fair as not to harm humanity. But initial research
stage does have challenges to humanity. Comment on that
APPROACHES TO LEARNING
Communication skills :
Exchanging thoughts, messages and information effectively through interaction
Use a variety of media to communicate with a range of audience
Differentiation :
Students can show up their understanding by either preparing charts/audios/ visuals as
per their talents. This way they can use their individual skills to reflect their understanding.
Students can also participate in open discussions where they can share their knowledge
and ideas with other students
Action in Service:
Advocacy : Performing in school assembly to reflect students knowledge on uses of
lenses and mirrors
International mindedness :
Create in physical/audio/visual form : and one among the following :
● Lens used in latest microscope and its magnification
● Latest telescope and where is it in world and its range
● Optical fibres as used in latest communication systems
● Optical fibres as used in medical surgery
RESOURCES :

School library : Various books are available in the school library that students can use to
understand the topic well.
School lab : Simple experiments in the lab to understand basic concepts like Focal length
of lens, real image.
