Final report: Cultural Psychology

The final report is due on Monday, June 17. It should be sent by email to Uichol Kim:
<uicholk@yahoo.com>. You need to name your MS-Word file as CP_Student Name_Student Number.

Note: You need to receive a confirmation from me that I have received your report since many messages get
lost or placed in Spam.

Inha University has a strict policy against plagiarism and if you copy material from the internet or use
generative AI, such ChatGPT, to answer the questions, you will automatically fail and receive the
grade of F.

I have software programs that will check if you plagiarized or used Chat GPT. You need to answer the
questions by using material from the lectures and textbooks.

The final report should include the following:

1. Cover Page: Title, name, student number, course name

3. Reference list
4. Appendix, if needed.

Questions for the Final Report
Answering the Final Report questions: Please select 1 question from each of the 5 sections below
and submit a total of 5 answers in the final report.
Each answer should be 3 pages long with reference of where you obtained the material (e.g.,
Lecture 3.3 Creativity, personal agency and efficacy beliefs).
Use the material presented in the lectures, interviews, and textbooks to answer your questions. If
you use other material, you need to give the exact reference, page number or internet link.
The final report should be doubled space, Times New Roman 12 font, and in MS-Word (I will
not accept any others format such as PDF, Scanned or Hangul file since you can save your file in
MS-Word).

You need to select 1 question from each 5 sections. Since there are 5 sections, you need to
submit 5 answers.

Section 1: Please select 1 question and submit your answer in the final report.

1. Critically evaluate Freudian Theory that claims that human behavior can be explained by
instincts and drive using evidence from neurobiology introduced by Prof. Gerald Huether
and Dan Siegal.
2. Evaluate Wilhelm Wundt’s cultural psychology and how results from Korea support his
theory.
3. Evaluate the basic difference of viewing psychology as a physical science, biological
science, and humanities science.

4. How did humans overcome our basic instinct to survive through creativity and innovations
and using wood, stones and clay.
5. How did humans overcome our basic instinct to survive by using fire that changed our
body, mind and technology?
6. Evaluate the role of art and design in providing the information technology that allowed
humans to store information outside our body so that future generations can use it to be
creative?

how they explained planetary motions and human behavior.
10. Evaluate the factors that contributed the development of the Renaissance and how Cartesian
dualism allowed science to develop?

11. Compare and contrast the conception of self in Korea compared to Western individualism.
12. Evaluate Albert Bandura’s Socio-Cognitive Theory of self-efficacy and how Korean results
on academic achievement support his theory.
13. Evaluate Albert Bandura’s Socio-Cognitive Theory of self-efficacy and how Korean results
on stress and health support his theory.
14. Evaluate Albert Bandura’s moral disengagement theory and how Korean results on
delinquency and school violence achievement support his theory.

15. Evaluate Korean economic growth and how it is different from the USA model of focusing
on individualism and competition.
16. Compare innovations of Samsung and Hynix and discuss their competitive advantage.
17. Compare the innovations of E-Mart and Zappos.
18. Evaluate factors that contribute to trust in Korea and the key differences compared to
Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden and Finland).
