Introduction.

Apple is a company that in 1976 started designing, manufacturing and selling


computers and technologic goods. Apple has always prioritized the production of
iconic, esthetic and more important, innovative, and functional products.

At the beginning Apple started making desktop computers, it was until 2001 when
they decided to launch the first Ipod and give the jump into something new, in 2006
Apple show to the market the new MacBook in those days was the most original and
iconic laptop.

And in 2007 Apple launched what would be called the start of a new era, Apple
launched the first Iphone, and 3 years later in 2010 the first ipad was on the market.

Since then apple has been the most important, and most valuable technology
company, Apple started to priorize the production and innovation in the Iphone now
a days the whole operations of apple turn around the Iphone, they make complement
products for the Iphones as it could be the airpods, smartwatches, also has
innovated a lot in new products as the airtags and in new services since they don’t
sell only phones they also offer services wich are AppleTV+, Apple Music, Apple
Care and Apple Arcade

Now a days Apple is the most famous and valuable company in the Phones, tablets,
computers, laptops, earphones, and in smartwatches.

But even Apple can have some problems when it comes to logistics, and in this work
I will give on example of a logistic problem and a possible solution for this problem
Definition of the problem

The latest Iphone launched by the company apple, and its delivery dates have been
a problem for apple since its release date has been delayed in more that one country,
caused by the overdemand that this product has presented, overdemand that apple
can not satisfy, this can be caused by multiple reasons, maybe because in
comparison with the latest phones released by the company the price is way more
affordable considering that the regular iphone 15 has a price of $20,000 while the
iphone 14 release price was $22,000 another reason could be that the chips needed
for the newest iphone have a slow production and the main fabric of this chips is
located in Taiwan China and they use a make-to-order or a just-in-time system of
both manufacturing and delivery

My solution

As it was already mentioned apple use a make to order system, which is not a bad
system since it has its advantages like there are no excess of inventory problems
with this system, and also the company spends only the amount of money needed
to produce the requested amount of products, but the disadvantages that this model
present are that the costs of production are higher and that the time that the client
waits until he or she have the product in their hands is longer.

My solution for this problem consists in implementing a make to stock system, the
main advantages of this system are that the time the client will have to wait until he
or she have the product would be lower, also you can get better costs by the
suppliers.
Results

After we started with the make to stock system, we have noticed how the satisfaction
of the client in matter of the time of response and the time of delivery have increased
a lot, and now we are way more capable to fulfill the quantities that our customers
request, also we have presented many other changes.

Since we implemented the MTS (make-to-stock), we have been able to reduce the
average lead time of our products, which is the time it takes since the manufacturing
of the product until it gets delivered to the clients, also know that we have products
in stock the company has been able to optimize the productions processes making
them more efficient, and also the company is less dependent on accurate forecasts.

We have a better inventory management system

Conclusion

The recommendation to upgrade our company's force chain through the


performance of the Make- to- Stock(MTS) system is a critical strategic step toward
operational effectiveness and logistical excellence. A detailed analysis of the
possible advantages and opportunities posed by this shift in product styles should
lead us to anticipate long- term advancements in several critical factors of our force
chain. Using the Make- to- Stock system is a smart way to boost our force chain's
productivity, rigidity, and competitiveness. By enforcing our suggestion, we're setting
up our company to navigate request challenges and reach new heights of functional
success further successfully.
