Pattern
By Jenn W @ www.croochet.com
Thank you for purchasing Joey the Jumbo Baby Otter's Crochet Pattern!!! Now named after the Vancouver
Marine Mammal Rescue's newest rescued baby otter in 2020, I first had this concept wayyyy back in 2016.
However, it wasn't until Feb 2019 when I finally set my heart into bringing him to reality. Crocheting big
plushes take up too much time and I simply was unable to spare any during that period. Since then, I've
made significant changes to every part of Joey (yes -- even his shell!). Isn’t it interesting how even the
tiniest things can be adjusted? Haha! I really hope you like this pattern as much as I do. Joey is probably
the biggest plush I've made so far and I'm very happy about the final outcome. I hope you'll have tons of
fun with this pattern too and that whoever you gift this chubby otter to, he/she will cherish him forever!
This pattern was created using acrylic yarns, but please feel free to substitute your own desired yarn. You
are welcome to sell finished products in small batches, but please give credit to me, Jenn @ Croochet with
a link to my etsy shop: https://croochet.etsy.com. I do ask that you kindly DO NOT claim or alter any parts
of this pattern and redistribute as your own. Please do not use my photos either. Thank you again for your
support --- let’s begin!

SHELL - make one

The shell is rather complicated to write out, therefore, I'll be explaining the instructions directly on the
photos.

TIP: I strongly recommend you to determine where the paws and feet should go on YOUR otter. As
everyone's gauges are a little different, what worked for me here may not work for your piece!
I attached feet
between R12 -
R16 of the body
21
When all individual parts are sewn on the head and body, you are now ready to sew these two major parts
together!
NOTE: Here, I sewed the tail after the head and body was attached, but in retrospect, it's probably easier to
attach the tail first before stuffing the body!
22
Again, here, I sewed the tail last…but you should probably do this before stuffing the body.
FINISHED!!
Congratulations on your very own Joey the Jumbo Baby Otter!!
