I defined teaching profession as an act of transferring knowledge, skills and values to

students in a structured way. Teaching profession not only guides students in academic
subjects but also guides students to develop their skill and value with the knowledge they
gain. Teachers should be act like a mentor, role model, and often, source of support and
encouragement for their students. I think the most essential aspect for understanding and
addressing the unique needs of each student is empathetic and patient. As someone who is
currently studying in English education, which I am being prepared to become a teacher, one
aspect of this profession resonates with my character and personality. I find joy in helping
others and gain satisfaction from seeing the people I help understand new concepts and
achieve their goals.

My love for learning and sharing knowledge is another reason the teaching profession
appeals to me. I am curious and always eager to explore new ideas, which I believe will help
me stay enthusiastic and innovative in my teaching methods. But I think I am not a good
communicator. I have a lot of ideas on how to make a teaching and learning process more
interesting and reach the target learning, but somehow, I can’t explain it because I am not
confident to express my ideas when there is a lot of people around me. Furthermore, I am an
impatient person, I feel like getting angry when I teach someone who has difficulty in
understanding the subject. Since I believe that a good teacher not only educates but also
should builds strong and positive relationships with students. Both of my personalities that I
previously mention is not a good thing. So, I think I still need to learn about that. Because if I
can’t control my anger and have a lack of communication skill, I can’t be a professional
teacher in the future.

Seeing that my characteristics and personality still far reflect a professional teacher, I
certainly still have a lot to learn to become a professional teacher in the future. Talking about
the dream of becoming a professional teacher will be a long discussion here. I aspire to
become a teacher who embraces creativity and innovation in the classroom. Since we know
that we live in an era where technology is easily accessible. I believe that effective teaching
requires a commitment to ongoing professional development. I plan to stay updated with the
latest research, trends, and best practices in education. I aspire to become a professional
teacher who competent in integrating various teaching methods and technologies to make
learning engaging and relevant to my students. With my increasing experience, I understand
that each student has their own strengths and weaknesses, so I aspire to be an empathetic
teacher who can align my students' individual needs, strengths, and challenges with existing
learning goals. I want to create a supportive environment, where all students feel valued and
respected, so they do not have to be worried about their anxiousness. In sum, I want to inspire
them not only academically but also personally, encouraging them to pursue their passions,
set high goals, and strive to become their best selves. However, all these things will not be
achieved if I feel enough with what I have now. As I continue learning about this field, I need
to reflect on myself in order to achieve goals that can benefit many people, not just myself. as
we know, self-reflection is key to professional growth. So, I aim to regularly reflect on my
teaching practices, seek feedback, and make adjustments as needed.

In the concept of learning, I, who is currently still a student, feel happy when I get
assignments that can train my critical thinking. Rather than doing assignments where the
answer is only right and wrong, I prefer to get assignments that have benefits in real life. I
prefer to do assignments that can provide new experiences which will later increase and
expand my knowledge in all aspects of life. In my opinion, this type of assignment is very
useful in student learning development. So, in teaching process, I would prefer to serve as a
pragmatic teacher. As I know about the concept, pragmatic teaching is characterized by its
focus on practical, real-world applications of knowledge. This approach aligns well with my
belief that education should be relevant and adaptable to the needs of students and the ever-
changing world. As a pragmatic teacher, I would prioritize student-centered learning. This
means creating lessons that are engaging, interactive, and directly connected to the students'
experiences and future goals. I believe that when students see the relevance of what they are
learning, they are more motivated and invested in their education.

Pragmatic teaching values experiential learning, where students learn through doing and
experimenting. This hands-on approach not only makes learning more engaging but also
helps students retain information better. I would incorporate project-based learning,
experiments, and practical activities into my teaching to make the learning process dynamic
and impactful. So, it can enhance students’ critical thinking skill and problem solving. And, to
continually assess and adapt teaching strategies based on what works best for students, I
value the importance of reflection and feedback in the teaching process. Evaluating my
methods and seeking feedback from students and colleagues regularly can make me
continually improve and adapt my teaching practices. In sum, I would prefer to serve as a
pragmatic teacher because this aligns with my values of flexibility, relevance, and student-
centered learning. It allows me to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that
prepares students for real-world challenges and fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and
collaboration skills.

I would consider combining more than one curriculum paradigm as part of my professional
teacher. Combining different paradigms allows for a more holistic approach to education.
Each paradigm has its strengths and integrating them can provide a more comprehensive
learning experience that addresses various aspects of student development. As a future
teacher, I envision my teaching approach as a harmonious blend of pragmatic and
existentialist paradigms, each enriching the other to create a dynamic and impactful learning
environment. This combination aligns with my belief in the importance of practical skills and
personal growth in education.

In my classes, a pragmatic approach will be the foundation, ensuring that students see the
relevance of their studies in the real world. I plan to design lessons that relate directly to
everyday life. This practical application will help students understand why what they are
learning is important, making education more interesting and meaningful. However, I don't
want my teaching to just provide practical knowledge. The existentialist paradigm would
incorporate my approach with a focus on personal meaning and self-discovery. I believe that
education should help students find their own path and understand their place in the world. To
achieve this, I will create opportunities for students to explore their interests, values, and
beliefs through reflective activities and personal projects.

The synergy of these two paradigms will be evident in the way I balance structured learning
with the freedom of individual exploration. This dual approach ensures that students develop
a well-rounded set of skills, preparing them for professional success and personal satisfaction.
I will foster an environment that supports autonomy and responsibility, giving students the
freedom to make choices regarding their learning paths while also holding them accountable
for their learning outcomes. This approach not only empowers students but also encourages
greater investment in their education. They will be motivated not only by grades, but by a
genuine interest in their own growth and development. In essence, my goal as a teacher is to
prepare students not only for the challenges of the real world but also for a fulfilling and
meaningful life. Integrating pragmatic and existentialist paradigms can create a supportive
classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued and respected. They will have the
freedom to explore their interests and the guidance to apply their knowledge practically. This
balanced approach will cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging
students to thrive both academically and personally.
