EXAMINATION

National Circular 33 of 2022 on the 2023/24 Annual Teaching Plans bears reference regarding
the contents of this communiqué.

Please take note of the following:

 Subjects and papers indicated in the timetable WITHOUT an asterisk will be availed by the
Provincial Assessment Directorate.
 Subjects and papers indicated in the timetable WITH an asterisk will be availed by the
Provincial Curriculum Directorate.
Arrangements for papers set by Assessment Directorate
 Papers will be protected and availed directly to the schools that sign the confidentiality
agreement and provide declarations for each member of the School Assessment Team
(SAT).
 Regulations pertaining to the conduct, administration and management of the National
Senior Certificate examination, published as Government Regulation Notice No. R872 in
Government Regulation Gazette No. 31337 of 29 August 2008 with amendment apply –
Annexure M on Examination Irregularities should be complied with at all times.
 These Papers should be written on the dates and time indicated on the timetable as your
school may not be the only one writing these papers.
 Schools are advised NOT to schedule papers before or beyond the identified period to give
more teaching and learning time.
 Compliance to National Assessment Circular 33 of 2022 is essential. Schools will have to
set other papers if stipulated by the Programme of Assessment (PoA) as entailed in the
2023/2024 ATPs.
 The schools are responsible to set standardised school-based question papers for all papers
NOT indicated on the timetable.
 Subject Advisors are requested to support schools by moderating other school-based
papers not appearing on the timetable.
