Read these sentences.

• This garden is full of red roses.

• Samrat Roy is a kind man.
• An elephant lives in a forest.
• Rita has a doll.
• Shalini has a rabbit. Its name is Tiara.
• The capital of India is New Delhi.
In these sentences, Samrat Roy, man, Rita and Shalini are the names
of people. The words garden, forest, capital, India and New Delhi
are the names of places. The words
elephant , rabbit and Tiara are the Notes

of people, places, things or
roses, table and doll are the names of animals. For example: Ram, girl,
things. All these names are naming India, city, chair, pencil, cat,

Animal and Thing
• a timer or a stopwatch
How to play:
Ask your teacher to call out a letter of the alphabet. The class
will get two minutes to write down names of a Person, Place,
Animal or Thing beginning with that letter.
Give yourself 10 marks for each column correctly filled. The
student with the highest score wins.
For example: If the teacher calls out the letter ‘E’, then:
