Requirement for registration and how to make use of your dashboard

NYSC has two websites;

www.nysc.gov.ng is for information


www.nysc.org.ng is the registration portal

Things needed for registration;


1. Check for NYSC accredited cyber cafe
2. Have your functional email
3. Create an account with NYSC (you’ll need your matric number, JAMB registration number and
NIN)
4. Make sure your name is arranged the same on your school portal and on your NIN. Make
immediate corrections if there is disparity.
5. You need three next-of-kins. You will provide their names, address and phone number
6. Genotype, blood group and the schools you attended from primary school till now with name
and year
7. Dress well to your registration cos the picture will be what will be on the NYSC certificate
8. Don’t register by proxy. Don’t let anyone do your registration for you.
9. At the cyber cafe, be vigilant and follow through on all the steps. Check all the details.

How to use your dashboard


1. Your email will be used to login
2. Read through your addendum (after you’ve printed it)
3. Print your slip
4. Corrections can be made to your name in the dashboard. Spelling error, and name
rearrangement can be rectified by NYSC. Additions and removals can only be handled in school.
5. You can correct your course on the dashboard
6. Corrections can be made to your date of birth only during registration. To correct your date of
birth, you’ll fist buy WAEC pin which will be used on the dashboard. A message will be sent to
confirm the change.

Four requirements of registration at the orientation camp;


1. Colored call-up letter
2. Green card (slip). Must be colored too.
3. Original hard copy of degree certificate or statement of result.
4. Addendum (the first pop-up on your portal. It is personalized)
5. Original and valid school ID card
6. For those that are under professional bodies (e.g., nursing, HIM, MLS), original certificate of
registration with the professional body and valid annual license.
Immediately you are cleared you will go to the ICT point where you will collect the state code
number. You will the proceed to your platoon to get your uniform. This marks the beginning of
your NYSC orientation.

NYSC has four cardinal programs;


1. Orientation
2. Primary assignment
3. Secondary assignment (community development)
4. Winding up and passing out program

Orientation camp is regimented in nature. This means being told what to do, when to do it and
how to do it. This means you will be told when to sleep, and eat. To instill discipline and expose
you all to the reality of life outside campus.
There are rules and restrictions that you have to abide by.

Competitions, sports, social events, carnivals and family meetings (by each platoon), etc., are
programs that will take place during the orientation. All the programs are all compulsory.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided [you will be fed well despite this economy on a three
square (or triangle) meal].

Skill Aquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program for skill acquisition and
development.

Business plan grants will be given to the winners of the business plan competitions by banks to
start their businesses. Start working on your business ideas now.

Community Development Service (CDS) is a weekly program that is compulsory throughout your
service at your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).

Take note;
1. On the camp, you are not allowed to smoke but you will be allowed not more than one bottle
of beer.

2. Be diligent, disciplined and respect yourself at your duty post. You don’t know who is watching.

3. Days for registration cut-off has been increased to five or six days. This afford you to take your
time. Don’t travel at night! Don’t travel at night!! Don’t travel at night!!! don’t rush your journey
so that you can take all you need to take with you.
4. Beware of sites that promise you re-deployment. Na scam dem be ohh. Deal with them at your
own risk

5. Don’t let business centers tell you to photocopy more than you need.

6. You do not need certificate of medical fitness.

7. Don’t slim fit your trouser. Get used to baggy!!!

For married women and those with serious health conditions, there is chance of getting deployed
to your state of origin.

Married women have to right to be posted to their husband’s area (state) of residence. If perhaps
you are deployed to a state outside your husband’s residence, you don’t have to go wherever you
are posted to. You can make your way to the orientation camp of the state of your residence with
valid marriage documents (marriage certificate, evidence of change of name, husband’s drivers
license, evidence of your residence e.g. Electricity bill, NIN) and call up letter.

Those with serious health conditions will have to specify on their green card with valid medical
report.
