Orientation camp is regimented in nature. This means being told what to do, when to do it and
how to do it. This means you will be told when to sleep, and eat. To instill discipline and expose
you all to the reality of life outside campus.
There are rules and restrictions that you have to abide by.
Competitions, sports, social events, carnivals and family meetings (by each platoon), etc., are
programs that will take place during the orientation. All the programs are all compulsory.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided [you will be fed well despite this economy on a three
square (or triangle) meal].
Skill Aquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program for skill acquisition and
development.
Business plan grants will be given to the winners of the business plan competitions by banks to
start their businesses. Start working on your business ideas now.
Community Development Service (CDS) is a weekly program that is compulsory throughout your
service at your Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
Take note;
1. On the camp, you are not allowed to smoke but you will be allowed not more than one bottle
of beer.
2. Be diligent, disciplined and respect yourself at your duty post. You don’t know who is watching.
3. Days for registration cut-off has been increased to five or six days. This afford you to take your
time. Don’t travel at night! Don’t travel at night!! Don’t travel at night!!! don’t rush your journey
so that you can take all you need to take with you.
4. Beware of sites that promise you re-deployment. Na scam dem be ohh. Deal with them at your
own risk
5. Don’t let business centers tell you to photocopy more than you need.
For married women and those with serious health conditions, there is chance of getting deployed
to your state of origin.
Married women have to right to be posted to their husband’s area (state) of residence. If perhaps
you are deployed to a state outside your husband’s residence, you don’t have to go wherever you
are posted to. You can make your way to the orientation camp of the state of your residence with
valid marriage documents (marriage certificate, evidence of change of name, husband’s drivers
license, evidence of your residence e.g. Electricity bill, NIN) and call up letter.
Those with serious health conditions will have to specify on their green card with valid medical
report.
