Figure 60: Analysis Graph between water contain and dry density

6. Conclusion
As we can see from the result above, it indicates that the maximum dry density (MDD)
𝜌𝑑,𝑚𝑎𝑥 = 1.84 𝑔⁄𝑐𝑚3, with the optimum moisture content (OMC), 𝑤(%) =12%. With this
result, we can compact natural soil at the site comparing the water content obtained here to get
maximum dry density (well compacted).

TP 10: CALIFORNIA BEARING RATIO TEST (CBR TEST)

1. Introduction
The California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test is a key procedure used in civil engineering to
assess the load-bearing capacity of soils and other construction materials. Developed by the
California Department of Transportation, it's become a vital tool for designing strong and stable
foundations, especially for roads and airstrips.

2. Objective
The main objective of the CBR test is to determine the strength and load-bearing
capacity of subgrade soils, which are the underlying soil that supports a pavement structure.
the suitability of base course materials used in pavement construction.

3. Equipment and Materials

Equipment and materials necessary for a CBR test include some tools that are the same
as the Proctor test:
