Task description: Transcript of a speech

Task:
Write a speech to be delivered at school assembly on the dying out of languages. You should:
 evaluate the views given in the text about what is happening to languages
 give your own views, based on what you have read, about whether it matters that languages are dying out.
Use some of the ideas in the passage and add others of your own, on either side of the argument. Explain and
develop giving examples, the different views on the subject. Structure and sequence your speech logically, using
paragraphs. Use tone and style, including rhetorical devices, to manipulate your audience into agreeing with your
views.
