I. BASIC INFORMATION
BUDGET: ₱9,450.00
II. RATIONALE
The reopening of the face-to-face classes after its 2-year closure shocked not only the
teachers and other academic authorities, but, the students as well. The effect of modular
instruction is very evident. Both teachers and students were challenged on how to cope with
the dilemma and disparity brought by the pandemic most especially in Mathematics.
Mathematics is considered as one of the important subjects in the curriculum. It
provides an effective way of building mental discipline and encourages logical reasoning and
mental rigor. In addition, mathematical knowledge plays a crucial role in understanding the
contents of other school subjects such as science, social studies, and even music and art.
Mastering the four fundamental operations better prepare students to a much higher
level of Mathematics. According to Brown and Quinn, “students who fail to master the
foundational conceptual understanding of numbers, are often unable to conceptualize algebra
and problem solving”. When students fail to understand the four fundamental operations they
might fail to develop the conceptual understanding that will carry them into higher level
mathematics.

Hence then, strengthening students’ skills in the four fundamental operations in
Mathematics is very vital for a successful Mathematics student.

by 1-digit for Multiplication and Division).
2. To perform (in writing) four fundamental operations in Mathematics.
3. To increase students’ performance in Mathematics.
4. To develop positive attitude towards learning Mathematics.
