IMPORTANCE OF WORK IMMERSION

BASED ON THE K-12 CURRICULUM

The K-12 Basic Education Program aims to help students develop the skills, work ethic, and

values necessary for pursuing further education or entering the workforce. Work Immersion is

now an obligatory subject in order to better align the nation’s development goals with the

fundamental education being provided. This subject will give students the following

opportunities: 1. To become accustomed to one’s workplace; 2. Seeing modeling work; 3. To put

their skills in their areas of expertise/applied studies to use in real-world job settings.

Work Immersion is thus essential for senior high school graduation in order to fulfill the

aforementioned goals. These concepts stem from the considerable experience of modeling

schools, technical vocational school, partnership focal points, industry partners, and youth

development advocates. These recommendations can help the Department of Education’s

(DepEd) field offices streamline their operations while also forging ties establishing

collaboration to provide students with appropriate work immersion environments and other

associated resources.

Through work immersion, students are exposed to and familiarized with job-related contexts

relevant to their area of expertise, which improves their proficiency. In particular, students can:

(i) gain practical and applicable industrial skills through the Supervisor of industry experts and

workers; (ii) understand and apply the principles and theories taught in school; (iii) improve their

technical knowledge and skills; and (iv) improved their communication skills; and (v) cultivate

student positive work habits, attitudes, and appreciation for their jobs. These prepare student for

the responsibilities and difficulties of a career or additional study after graduation.

Work Immersion is component of the Department of Education (DepEd) senior high school

curriculum in which student will experience the actual job and work standard that are simulated

in all organizations or institutions. Work immersion is a technique in which pupils exhibit the

working process and the progress the knowledge provided in schools, rather than an actual

agreement to work. This is also where the imitation of the original works is generated.

Work immersion is important part of the senior high school curriculum. It can be done in a

variety of ways, depending on the students’ objectives and needs. It promotes the development of

students’ life and professional skills and better prepares them to choose between higher

education and employment. DepEd thinks that by developing partnerships, partner institutions

will provide student with opportunities for employment immersion, workplace training, or

OBJECTIVTES OF WORK IMMERSION

The goal of K-12 Basic Education program are to identify, Improve and develop

students’ learning competencies while also aiding them in pursuing their chosen

profession.

And to construct a stronger nation, Work immersion is part of the K-12 curriculum. It

provides opportunities for learning.

1. To improve communication skills.

2. To become accustomed to new surroundings.

3. To enhance, develop, and utilize their skills.

4. To prepare them for work.

Learners are scattered around numerous enterprises, offices, and laboratories as their work

immersion/actual employment sites. They are intended to facilitate the students’ work-based

learning with the help of the company’s partnership by giving them the opportunity to complete

real-world task and obtain new knowledge.

1.In order to be more productive, they must improve their knowledge and abilities.

2.To foster excellent communication and relationships with others.

3. To develop work ethics, attitudes, and work values. During Senior High School’s

Work immersion allow students to use what they learned about their specialization in

order to strengthen and develop their skills, boost their knowledge, and prepare for

employment before continuing on to higher education. During senior high school work

immersion, students gain solid social interaction skills that will help them form and

sustain positive relationships with others. The policy directed the above-mentioned

objectives to:

1. Construct a flexible work immersion.

2. Offer a work immersion as an alternative.

3. Make available a safe comfortable working environment.

The following values and characteristics should define student-trainees in their respective

workplaces.

Good communicators. Employers are searching for applicants who can effectively

communicate in both written and spoken English. Effective communication skills will help to

reduce common workplace concerns such as confusion and misunderstandings between

colleagues or between a superior and a subordinate.

Hardworking. The success of an organization's goals requires a collaborative effort from

dedicated employees. They are the "army," or employees, who keep the company functioning.

Professional/Ethical. Employers desire someone who follows company rules and is

professional, set a good example for others, and ensures that work is completed appropriately.

This is why workplace regulations are designed to ensure that work is done properly and that

there are no issues among employers.

Punctual. Time is of the essence on the job. Every second counts. Because punctuality is tied

to productivity, which is linked to success, employers look for applicants who value their time.

Reliable. Superiors are seeking someone they can trust and delegate work to in order to ensure

that the office runs smoothly even when they are not present. In fact, according to recent

research, the #1 characteristic that employers look for in an employee is dependability.

My goal during work immersion is to improve my communication skills to gain as much

knowledge and experience as I can to look for an opportunity or career to pursue

In this Immersion I will work hand to gain skills and confidence during work, I completing

my 80 hours, in this Immersion to become productive in this work, additional my goal is to

teach kindergarten students and talk to them as a teacher and teach them good manners

NATURE OF THE COMPANY

Doña Juana Elementary School is a public elementary and primary education institution. It is a well-

known educational institution situated in Holy Spirit, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines the pupils

are given educational services by the school. To develop the kid's talents, they conduct a variety of

cultural and educational activities such as "Buwan ng

Wika” “Intramurals” “Nutrition Month” “Foundation

Week” and “Quezon City Day” among others take

part in activities to display their abilities. The Boy

Scout of the Philippines is one of the organizations

housed within the institution Both typical and

special-needs students are enrolled at the School.

Through quiz bees on vicarious subject such as math

and Hekasi, teachers of children with special needs lead events for the kids to develop their academic

brains

WEEK 1

During the first week of my work immersion in administrative tasks for my On-the-Job

Training, I made significant progress in familiarizing myself with office software such as

Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. My organizational skills were commendable as I

efficiently managed files, documents, and schedules, contributing to a smooth workflow within

the office. I also noticed improvement in my communication skills, both written and verbal, as I

continued to practice clear and professional communication with colleagues and external

stakeholders. In terms of administrative procedures, I demonstrated a good understanding of

basic tasks like handling correspondence and scheduling meetings. While I started assisting in

project management tasks, I acknowledge there’s room for growth in coordinating projects and

meeting deadlines. My ability to identify challenges within administrative processes and propose

solutions has been promising, and I aim to further hone my problem-solving skills. I’ve shown

improvement in managing my time and prioritizing tasks, reflecting in consistent productivity.

I’ve also been mindful of office etiquette, maintaining professionalism in my conduct with

colleagues and superiors. I will continue seeking feedback from supervisors and colleagues to

identify areas for improvement and implement suggestions for personal and professional growth.

Overall, my progress during the first week has been commendable, and I’m determined to strive

During the second week of my work immersion in administrative tasks for my On-the-Job

Training, I continued to make progress in various areas. My proficiency in office software,

including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, improved further, allowing me to

complete tasks more efficiently. My organizational skills remained strong as I effectively

managed files, documents, and schedules, contributing to a smooth workflow within the office.

Additionally, my communication skills continued to develop as I engaged in more interactions

in writing and verbally. I deepened my understanding of administrative procedures, particularly

My experience with the people around me during my work immersion at Doña Juana

Elementary School has been nothing short of inspiring. From the moment I stepped foot into the

administrative office, I was greeted with warmth, kindness, and a genuine eagerness to help me

learn and grow. The educators, administrators, and support staff alike welcomed me into their

community with open arms, treating me not as a mere observer but as a valued member of the

team. Throughout my time there, I had the privilege of collaborating with individuals from

table. Whether it was brainstorming ideas for improving administrative processes or working

MY MOST MEMORABLE EVENT DURING WORK IMMERSION

On my final day at Doña Juana Elementary School during my work immersion, I felt a

whirlwind of emotions as I tackled my last administrative tasks with fervor and dedication. One

of my most cherished memories was preparing for the teachers’ meeting, meticulously printing a

chart and arranging attendance from kindergarten to grade 6, including a special child, and

organizing the teachers’ 2x2 pictures. Throughout my time there, I gained invaluable insights

into administrative intricacies and the importance of inclusivity and teamwork. As I bid farewell

to the school, I left with a profound appreciation for the dedicated educators and a sense of pride

in the impact I had made, knowing that my experience had not only equipped me with practical

skills but had also enriched my understanding of the power of passion and purpose in fostering a

CHALLENGES I MET

Throughout my work immersion at Doña Juana Elementary School, I encountered

various challenges that tested my adaptability, problem-solving skills, and resilience. One of the

primary challenges was learning to navigate the intricacies of administrative tasks, such as

organizing meetings, managing documents, and coordinating schedules, which required me to

quickly familiarize myself with new systems and procedures.

Additionally, ensuring inclusivity and accommodating the needs of all students, including

those with special requirements, presented its own set of challenges. From arranging appropriate

seating arrangements to providing necessary support, I had to find creative solutions to ensure

that every student felt valued and included in the educational environment.

Moreover, balancing my responsibilities with time constraints and unexpected

interruptions was another challenge I faced. Whether it was addressing urgent tasks or managing

multiple priorities simultaneously, I had to learn to prioritize effectively and stay organized to

meet deadlines and commitments.

Furthermore, communication barriers and misunderstandings occasionally arose,

particularly when collaborating with diverse teams or interacting with individuals with different

communication styles. Overcoming these challenges required patience, active listening, and

clear, concise communication to ensure that everyone was on the same page. Despite the

obstacles encountered, each challenge presented an opportunity for growth and learning. By

RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

Based on my work immersion experience at Doña Juana Elementary School, I have

several recommendations to enhance administrative efficiency and promote inclusivity. Firstly,

implementing digital tools for tasks like scheduling meetings and managing documents can

streamline processes and reduce paperwork. Providing training and ongoing support for staff

members on these tools will empower them to use them effectively. Additionally, ensuring

accessibility for all students, including those with special needs, through physical

accommodations and assistive technologies is crucial. Fostering a culture of diversity and

inclusion within the school community by celebrating different backgrounds and perspectives is

essential. Regular communication channels between teachers, administrators, and support staff

CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN

As I reflect on my work immersion experience at Doña Juana Elementary School, I recognize my

strengths in attention to detail, organizational skills, and inclusivity, which have laid the

foundation for my career aspirations. My long-term goal is to become an educational

administrator, overseeing the operations of a school or educational institution. To achieve this, I

have outlined several short-term objectives. Firstly, I aim to gain additional administrative

experience by seeking opportunities to take on more responsibility, such as managing projects or

coordinating events. I also recognize the importance of improving my communication skills,

both written and verbal, and plan to enroll in workshops or courses focused on effective

communication. Additionally, I intend to develop proficiency in digital tools commonly used in

administrative roles by familiarizing myself with software such as Microsoft Office Suite and

project management tools. To support my skills development, I will seek mentorship from

experienced administrators and enroll in online courses or workshops to enhance my abilities.

Networking will be crucial in my journey, so I plan to join professional associations related to

educational administration and attend conferences or seminars to expand my network. Regular

The lesson I learned was how to be tough and persevere in doing the activities assigned to me by

my teacher. Even if you are tired and your neck is aching, you must still act as if you are fine

I also learned how to communicate with people who are older than me such as teachers, parents,

guards, and also my kindergarten students. I also plan to become a teacher someday because of

this (OJT) on the job training. I also experience how to teach and how to understand them.

What I learned since I entered the work immersion for 80 hours is to be understanding and

moderate because among the children I teach, there are inevitably some who are nasty and rude,

so I really have to be understanding and moderate with them. I can also say that it is not easy to

teach, so I worked as hard as the adviser teachers there, who, even though they were very tired,

still did the children's activities. Another thing I learned is that I must know how to cooperate so

that other teachers can also help me when they know I am struggling and need it. I also want to

hang out with them so that I can easily become close to them, and I won't be shy if we meet

teachers at school. That's all, and the number one thing is that I should always be happy and

In addition, on Valentine's day my kindergarten students gave me a flower and chocolate. They

During my work immersion in kindergarten, there was this event called family day. It was the

most memorable event for me. On that day, all the parents, guardians, and siblings of the

kindergarten students come to visit our school. It was a day filled with excitement and you. We

prepared various activities for the Families to participate in some games, arts and crap to, and

storytelling series-1 was assigned to Desistin sections, organizing the gamers and I had so much

fun interacting with the kids and their families. I remember one particular moment when a shy

child, who usually kept to themselves, eagerly participated In a game with their Family. Seeing

the smiler on their faces as they played together warmed my heart. It made me realize the

importance of Family bonding and now there simple activities con create lasting memories For

both children and their loved ones. Throughout the day. I witnessed numerous heart warming

interactions between the Children and their Families. From parents Cheering on their children

during races to siblings helping each other with art projects. it was evident how these much love

and support surrounded young learners. As the event came to an end, I felt a sense of fulfillment

knowing that I played a port in creating such a memorable experience for everyone involved. It

was a day I will never forget. Filled with laughter, joy, and precious moments shared with the

kindergarten students and their Families.

There are many events that I will never forget when I was still at Doña Juana. One of them was

when we taught the kindergartners to dance for their family day. Why did I say that I will never

forget this? because many children are happy when we practice dance for their family day dance

and they all want to dance. I had a very happy experience because we all just enjoyed dancing

and it also helped me a lot because it improved my confidence. The best thing that happened to

me in the on the job training was that I taught the children to write, count and many other things.

It was very fun because even in a short time I got to experience being a teacher and being called

sir and it was very fun for me. that's because they appreciate my helping them even in small

things so I said that this is the best thing that happened to me because I wouldn't have felt this

feeling if it wasn't for the fact that I entered Doña Juana and was given the opportunity to

become a student teacher for a while. I also had an unforgettable incident with the teachers

because every afternoon they gave us snacks and we also chatted sometimes and these are the

During my work immersion days, there was this one day that I'll never forget. It was when we

had this practice for family day. The students practiced the dance steps and how to form their

places. Everything seemed so fine at first, but things started to go wrong because the students

were filled in the court and it had only small spaces to move.

But instead of overreacting, we all came together to figure things out. We practiced it all over

again until we finally got the perfect steps. It was tough, and there were moments when it felt

like we might not make it. But we kept pushing forward, supporting each other every step of the

way. In the end, we managed to fix everything and meet the deadline. It was a huge relief, and it

felt amazing to see all our hard work pay off. Looking back, I realized how much I learned from

that experience. The importance of teamwork and staying calm under pressure.

That day taught me that no matter how tough things get, as long as you have a good team and

you keep trying, you can overcome any challenges.

MY MOST MEMORABLE EVENT DURING WORK IMMERSION

For me, the most memorable event during my work immersion was the one we practiced on

family day because almost all of us work immersion students taught dance, and that's probably

the one I will never forget during my work immersion and the day one too because I also got to

know better the children I will watch over and those I will teach and that's where I also met my

partners during my work immersion.

Excited, nervous, and worried. The first day of our work immersion made me feel different

emotions. I’m excited because this will be a new experience for me, but I’m also nervous

because I don’t know what will happen. I am worried because I do not have that much patience,

especially when it comes to stubborn little kids.

But as time went by and I got used to the work, I began to enjoy the tasks assigned. One big

reason for this was the constant help of Ma'am Joan, my supervisor. She made a big difference

by always being there for us, supporting us, and taking us through the challenges. With her help,

I became more comfortable and confident in my role.

CHALLENGES I MET

In life, there are a lot of trials or challenges, but all we need to do is to learn how to experience a

lot of challenges for being a student teacher. Every single day, there's a challenge. My

challenges i meet during work immersion was to wake up early and do what the supervisor told

me to do, even if the things they ask you to do one after the other, you have to do it and finish it

on time, you also have to face a lot of people and don't be shy, I also encountered those students

who were quiet, noisy, and disciplined, there's a lot of students who have different attitudes and

behaviors,

When I was a student teacher, I had difficulties. My biggest issue was learning to be patient,

especially with certain loud pupils who are the kids who don't really know how to listen or don't

really move. However, as I go with my work immersion as a student, I was able to get their

attention. Simply have a polite conversation with them and let them know when to stop.

Love what you do, and show it through your actions. As for suggestions, don't waste the

opportunity given to you, important to arrive early for work immersion, at least 10 minutes

before it starts. Don't wait for the work immersion teacher to ask you to clean up, if you see a

mess, take the initiative to clean it. And always remain humble.
