CHAPTER 1 : IMPORTANT POINTS IN WORK IMMERSION
IMPORTANCE OF WORK IMMERSION

BASED ON THE K-12 CURRICULUM
The K-12 Basic Education Program aims to help students develop the skills, work ethic, and
values necessary for pursuing further education or entering the workforce. Work Immersion is
now an obligatory subject in order to better align the nation’s development goals with the
fundamental education being provided. This subject will give students the following
opportunities: 1. To become accustomed to one’s workplace; 2. Seeing modeling work; 3. To put
their skills in their areas of expertise/applied studies to use in real-world job settings.
Work Immersion is thus essential for senior high school graduation in order to fulfill the
aforementioned goals. These concepts stem from the considerable experience of modeling
schools, technical vocational school, partnership focal points, industry partners, and youth
development advocates. These recommendations can help the Department of Education’s
(DepEd) field offices streamline their operations while also forging ties establishing
collaboration to provide students with appropriate work immersion environments and other
associated resources.
Through work immersion, students are exposed to and familiarized with job-related contexts
relevant to their area of expertise, which improves their proficiency. In particular, students can:
(i) gain practical and applicable industrial skills through the Supervisor of industry experts and
workers; (ii) understand and apply the principles and theories taught in school; (iii) improve their

technical knowledge and skills; and (iv) improved their communication skills; and (v) cultivate
student positive work habits, attitudes, and appreciation for their jobs. These prepare student for
the responsibilities and difficulties of a career or additional study after graduation.
Work Immersion is component of the Department of Education (DepEd) senior high school
curriculum in which student will experience the actual job and work standard that are simulated
in all organizations or institutions. Work immersion is a technique in which pupils exhibit the
working process and the progress the knowledge provided in schools, rather than an actual
agreement to work. This is also where the imitation of the original works is generated.

Work immersion is important part of the senior high school curriculum. It can be done in a
variety of ways, depending on the students’ objectives and needs. It promotes the development of
students’ life and professional skills and better prepares them to choose between higher
education and employment. DepEd thinks that by developing partnerships, partner institutions
will provide student with opportunities for employment immersion,

The goal of K-12 Basic Education program are to identify, Improve and develop
students’ learning competencies while also aiding them in pursuing their chosen
profession.
And to construct a stronger nation, Work immersion is part of the K-12 curriculum. It
provides opportunities for learning.
1. To improve communication skills.
2. To become accustomed to new surroundings.
3. To enhance, develop, and utilize their skills.
4. To prepare them for work.
Learners are scattered around numerous enterprises, offices, and laboratories as their work
immersion/actual employment sites. They are intended to facilitate the students’ work-based
learning with the help of the company’s partnership by giving them the opportunity to complete
real-world task and obtain new knowledge.
1.In order to be more productive, they must improve their knowledge and abilities.
2.To foster excellent communication and relationships with others.
3. To develop work ethics, attitudes, and work values. During Senior High School’s
Work Immersion.
Work immersion allow students to use what they learned about their specialization in
order to strengthen and develop their skills, boost their knowledge, and prepare for
employment before continuing on to higher education. During senior high school work

immersion, students gain solid social interaction skills that will help them form and
sustain positive relationships with others. The policy directed the above-mentioned
objectives to:
1. Construct a flexible work immersion.
2. Offer a work immersion as an alternative.
3. Make available a safe comfortable working environment.

VALUES AND ATTRIBUTES OF A STUDENT IN A WORK IMMERSION
The following values and characteristics should define student-trainees in their respective
workplaces.
Good communicators. Employers are searching for applicants who can effectively

communicate in both written and spoken English. Effective communication skills will help to
reduce common workplace concerns such as confusion and misunderstandings between
colleagues or between a superior and a subordinate.
Hardworking. The success of an organization's goals requires a collaborative effort from
dedicated employees. They are the "army," or employees, who keep the company functioning.
Professional/Ethical. Employers desire someone who follows company rules and is
professional, set a good example for others, and ensures that work is completed appropriately.
This is why workplace regulations are designed to ensure that work is done properly and that
there are no issues among employers.
Punctual. Time is of the essence on the job. Every second counts. Because punctuality is tied
to productivity, which is linked to success, employers look for applicants who value their time.
Reliable. Superiors are seeking someone they can trust and delegate work to in order to ensure
that the office runs smoothly even when they are not present. In fact, according to recent
research, the #1 characteristic that employers look for in an employee is dependability.

My goal during work immersion is to improve my communication skills to gain as much
knowledge and experience as I can to look for an opportunity or career to pursue

CHAPTER 2: COMPANY PROFILE
NATURE OF THE COMPANY
Doña Juana Elementary School is a public elementary and primary education institution. It is a well-
known educational institution situated in Holy Spirit, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines the pupils
are given educational services by the school. To develop the kid's talents, they conduct a variety of

cultural and educational activities such as "Buwan ng Wika” “Intramurals” “Nutrition Month”
“Foundation Week” and “Quezon City Day” among others take part in activities to display their abilities.
The Boy Scout of the Philippines is one of the organizations housed within the institution Both typical
and special-needs students are enrolled at the School. Through quiz bees on vicarious subject such as
math and Hekasi, teachers of children with special needs lead events for the kids to develop their
academic brains

WEEK 1
Every time is new to me during my first week at Doña Juana Elementary School. Our first week
with an orientation session on the first day we came to learn critical knowledge on how to
evaluate learners and how to act appropriately. On the first day I was nervous because it was the
first time to experience it
I was assigned to the registration of the kindergarten to enrollment form for parents to enroll for
their child. My supervisor told me that I was in a different room every morning. I would be
assigned to register for kindergarten and in the afternoon I was teaching kindergarten. I helped
the children with how to write their name and taught them how to color a book after finishing, I
checked their works.

This week many parents enroll on this day. We entertained them and took care of them. For
those who don't know what to put in the form, they ask us. And in the afternoon the adviser told
me to look at the children because they are going to take a class picture. It's a bit far from where
they are pictured, so I have to go with them and see. And take care because ma'am can't control
them because they are stubborn.

During our second week of work immersion we continued with our task of registration to give
the enrollment form to the parents who are enrolling their child. When there are no come parents
to enroll because sometimes there are days are no come parents to enroll, When there are no
parents coming, We just help clean the children's rooms when they get home
In the afternoon I told my supervisor what I can do to help, she told me to look at children
because they brush their teeth outside the room. I also taught them how to use the toothbrush step
by step. Before that Ma'am Joan told me I will tell my colleagues who teach in kindergarten that
we will practice dance for their Family day Event, so that we can also teach our students.
On Valentine's Day my students gave me flowers and chocolates and my supervisor told them to
draw a big heart for their parents. Also my two supervisors gave me a gift with a message
I'm so happy, I'm so happy, I didn't expect that they would still have something like that for me,
I'll never forget that day.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY EXPERIENCE
The lesson I learned was how to be tough and persevere in doing the activities assigned to me by
my teacher. Even if you are tired and your neck is aching, you must still act as if you are fine
I also learned how to communicate with people who are older than me such as teachers, parents,
guards, and also my kindergarten students. I also plan to become a teacher someday because of
this (OJT) on the job training. I also experience how to teach and how to understand them.
I will say that I was truly grateful because I encountered and experienced this because I have
known what will bring my chosen course to me in the near future. And I am looking forward to
that.

What I learned from the work immersion was to treat others with discipline and respect. I also
learned how to talk to them nicely, value their time, and maintain my humility. Managing them
also taught me patience and understanding, as well as how to handle tasks like keeping track of

From my work immersion experience, I learned to value time and stay humble. I also learned to
be respectful and communicate well, even with people I don't know. It taught me patience and
the importance of respecting others, especially when dealing with students. Handling them taught

learning experience.

Based on my observation, I've learned so much with my teacher. For example, you need to be
patient with your class. It's hard to do this thing, especially since the students you've made
contact with, have different attitudes and behavior. And by that, it's very important for you to

to work together to make work easier. Because of the immersion I improved my communication

During work immersion the first thing is to respect and have discipline with the teachers because
if you don't have respect you will not be able to complete your task and also to the students.
According to what I learned the most is to have long patient and respect them so while they are
young they can learn how to respect while they still young and with the students I learn to give
them all patience I have and especially I am happy because I experience being a teacher to them
like recording the scores in the activities they do and my experience that I learn how to put
grade/ scores and how to handle them because other students are difficult to obey and also the
other students are difficult to understand so I make them understand what is and I also learned a
lot not only from the teachers but also from the students because they were also the reason why I
had experience this and it also part of my work and studies

What I have learned from the work immersion taught me a lot. I've gained a deeper
understanding of the people and improved my language skills significantly. Adapting to new
environments has made me more resilient, and interacting with people from diverse backgrounds

What I learned since I entered the work immersion for 80 hours is to be understanding and
moderate because among the children I teach, there are inevitably some who are nasty and rude,
so I really have to be understanding and moderate with them. I can also say that it is not easy to
teach, so I worked as hard as the adviser teachers there, who, even though they were very tired,
still did the children's activities. Another thing I learned is that I must know how to cooperate so
that other teachers can also help me when they know I am struggling and need it. I also want to
hang out with them so that I can easily become close to them, and I won't be shy if we meet
teachers at school. That's all, and the number one thing is that I should always be happy and
accept the job that is given to me because that's why it was given to me because they have
confidence that I can do it well.

First of all I’m very much grateful for the support and understanding of my superior especially
on times when I committed mistakes, My experience with the people like my teacher Joan and
ma'am jean he was very kind to us and he respected us who immersed ourselves with them
especially to those who worked for her, In additional is how you respect the people around you
and the children they respect me, they criticize me like I'm really a teacher every time I come

My experiences with teachers and playful kids were really fun. I learned a lot, not just about
myself, but also how to talk better. My work immersion teacher helped me understand and be
patient with students. I found out that being a teacher is not easy. It needs more hard work and

I've met a huge of people with different behavior. I could say that my superior was so very kind
because they're guiding me when I'm doing the task they gave. And for my co-workers it's nice

My experiences throughout my immersion with my teachers was very fun. I learned a lot not just
from myself but how to improve my communication skills. My Supervisors helped me to

My experience with the people I was with was very happy because when I met them, they were
kind and they knew how to get along, especially with everyone. They were not annoying and
they were not difficult to get along with because they were kind and everyone had respect for
each other. . There are times when I get frustrated with the children I teach because they are very
naughty, but I can calm them down because they also have kindness and respect for me, so I am
happy when they obey me when I make them quiet.

My Experience With People around me shows how to Respect everyone in and outside of the
School . and I also learned how to watch and how to get the children's respect because that's the
first thing we should get you when we're teaching in front and that's what I learned when I

The most memorable event that I encountered during our work immersion The first one is that
the children when i teach them to write their name and how to read what is written on the board
also when teacher left me in the room he said I would watch over them, And they will be read
one by one from the writing on the blackboard I'm happy because they will participate and then
they are quite, it's a good feeling when you teach they follow what I say.
In addition, on Valentine's day my kindergarten students gave me a flower and chocolate. They
and my two supervisors also gave me a gift that I will forget and they had a message letter for
me, the beautiful message that I read. Overall, my best memory that I can't forget was when we
were teaching our kindergarten students to dance for their Family day events.

Since practically all of us teach dance, the work immersion activity that I will remember the
most is when we made the kids practice for family day. I will also probably never forget that I
was a practice student teacher and kept an eye on the kids during my work immersion.

During my work immersion in kindergarten, there was this event called family day. It was the
most memorable event for me. On that day, all the parents, guardians, and siblings of the
kindergarten students come to visit our school. It was a day filled with excitement and you. We
prepared various activities for the Families to participate in some games, arts and crap to, and
storytelling series-1 was assigned to Desistin sections, organizing the gamers and I had so much
fun interacting with the kids and their families. I remember one particular moment when a shy
child, who usually kept to themselves, eagerly participated In a game with their Family. Seeing
the smiler on their faces as they played together warmed my heart. It made me realize the
importance of Family bonding and now there simple activities con create lasting memories For
both children and their loved ones. Throughout the day. I witnessed numerous heart warming
interactions between the Children and their Families. From parents Cheering on their children
during races to siblings helping each other with art projects. it was evident how these much love
and support surrounded young learners. As the event came to an end, I felt a sense of fulfillment
knowing that I played a port in creating such a memorable experience for everyone involved. It
was a day I will never forget. Filled with laughter, joy, and precious moments shared with the
kindergarten students and their Families.

I was happy because I finally came with my elementary school to work for my immersion. The
best thing happened when I was at work immersion is, my students became closed to me. I like
how they greet us with respect every time we went to their rooms.

The most memorable thing for me during work immersion is that all the children I watched and
taught became close to me, they were almost like my brothers if you consider that I had fun with
them and the teachers I worked with, I learned a lot and learned a lot of knowledge about
teaching broadened my mind and lengthened my patience somehow and I am very happy
because the other students give me gifts and they make me laugh every day when I go to them.

There are many events that I will never forget when I was still at Doña Juana. One of them was
when we taught the kindergartners to dance for their family day. Why did I say that I will never
forget this? because many children are happy when we practice dance for their family day dance
and they all want to dance. I had a very happy experience because we all just enjoyed dancing
and it also helped me a lot because it improved my confidence. The best thing that happened to
me in the on the job training was that I taught the children to write, count and many other things.
It was very fun because even in a short time I got to experience being a teacher and being called
sir and it was very fun for me. that's because they appreciate my helping them even in small
things so I said that this is the best thing that happened to me because I wouldn't have felt this
feeling if it wasn't for the fact that I entered Doña Juana and was given the opportunity to
become a student teacher for a while. I also had an unforgettable incident with the teachers
because every afternoon they gave us snacks and we also chatted sometimes and these are the
unforgettable moments during the on the job training

The most memorable thing for me during my work immersion was that may co workers in on the
job training we stand together in the tasks and the students we seen in hallway and taught not
only the students we assigned to us but all the students in Doña Juana elementary school and
because during in our on the job training i became close with them and we has a simple bonding
like eating together and entering at the same time in school. Also had the opportunity to teach the
students and help teachers to watch out over the students and also had an opportunity to
experience working in the school. I am happy that I experienced it because it was the most
memorable I experienced this school year. I am happy that I can help, especially the students and
teachers.

During my work immersion days, there was this one day that I'll never forget. It was when we
had this practice for family day. The students practiced the dance steps and how to form their
places. Everything seemed so fine at first, but things started to go wrong because the students
were filled in the court and it had only small spaces to move.
But instead of overreacting, we all came together to figure things out. We practiced it all over
again until we finally got the perfect steps. It was tough, and there were moments when it felt
like we might not make it. But we kept pushing forward, supporting each other every step of the
way. In the end, we managed to fix everything and meet the deadline. It was a huge relief, and it
felt amazing to see all our hard work pay off. Looking back, I realized how much I learned from
that experience. The importance of teamwork and staying calm under pressure.
That day taught me that no matter how tough things get, as long as you have a good team and
you keep trying, you can overcome any challenges.

The most memorable event I did in work immersion was when I taught dance in kindergarten,
and I had so much fun because I imitated, and they also happily danced and imitated the dance
that I had to teach them.

For me, the most memorable event during my work immersion was the one we practiced on
family day because almost all of us work immersion students taught dance, and that's probably
the one I will never forget during my work immersion and the day one too because I also got to
know better the children I will watch over and those I will teach and that's where I also met my
partners during my work immersion.

MY WORK IMMERSION EXPERIENCE IN A NUTSHELL
Excited, nervous, and worried. The first day of our work immersion made me feel different
emotions. I’m excited because this will be a new experience for me, but I’m also nervous
because I don’t know what will happen. I am worried because I do not have that much patience,
especially when it comes to stubborn little kids.
But as time went by and I got used to the work, I began to enjoy the tasks assigned. One big
reason for this was the constant help of Ma'am Joan, my supervisor. She made a big difference
by always being there for us, supporting us, and taking us through the challenges. With her help,
I became more comfortable and confident in my role.

were so talkative, they will not listen to you. But later on, I started to understand them and to

lot of challenges for being a student teacher. Every single day, there's a challenge. My
challenges i meet during work immersion was to wake up early and do what the supervisor told
me to do, even if the things they ask you to do one after the other, you have to do it and finish it
on time, you also have to face a lot of people and don't be shy, I also encountered those students
who were quiet, noisy, and disciplined, there's a lot of students who have different attitudes and

I faced challenges as a student teacher. One was learning patience, especially with some rowdy
students. It was tough, but I managed it. Another challenge was the long hours, waking up early.
But I handled it all well Another challenge was not knowing all the students and how to talk to

even those I didn't know well.

can endure giving patience to the students for 2 weeks but I passed that challenge that gave to me
because I didn't expect that I would pass it and I did and another one is when I wake up early and

bit of a hard time handling that situation because I'm not used to it, but I handled it properly.

opportunity given to you, important to arrive early for work immersion, at least 10 minutes
before it starts. Don't wait for the work immersion teacher to ask you to clean up, if you see a
mess, take the initiative to clean it. And always remain humble.
